How often are you in the zone?

Not very long. Although I luv meh sum vidjagames, I legitimately am pretty bad at them. However, I have had some good moments in shooter games. just not many. I'd say after an hour or so of playing, if I'm awake and undistracted, I'm usually pretty good for about 20 minutes to half an hour. After that point I suck donkey balls, though.

I was in the Zone today actually, both figuratively and literally.

I was playing STALKER and I got a headshot from a huge distance on a Duty guy without aiming.

Technically you were "in The Zone" just by playing the game (GEDDIT?)

In games like Geometry Wars, I only realise i'm in The Zone when I fall out of it and suddenly look at the score, wondering how the hell that happened. Or in Call of Duty MP when I notice i've got 20+ kills and then die immediately afterwards.

Its been happening a hell of a lot on MW2 recently, actually... especially with free-for-all... and a heartbeat sensor... got 30 kills to 3 deaths once... that felt goooooood...

usually if I'm in the zone, it'll go on for the whole game. Maybe even the whole day if I'm lucky.

OT; Normally against mates; we start of jokey then we get more and more competitive. Basically one of us will hit the zone and if it's Halo I normally get there first, had some pretty cool ones on Resistance 2 when I just got sooo many kills with the marksmen (burst fire rifle with 2x zoom)

What day it its
What the weather is like
What game it is
What/when I've eaten
The moon cycle
The console
Mic/no mic
The map
What the time is
What season it is
The month

umm probably about the same time I realize it's 7am and I've been playing all night.

If I've been playing for a while I can get really into it. Like as in if I've been sitting down for an hour and really enjoying myself, I become a killing machine. I took out an entire team by myself on Gears of War 2 on Guardian after my leader and everyone else on my team died with a shotgun and when they were packed together as a team. I don't know if it was luck or just straight up being in the zone, but when I'm into it, I'm into it.

A more rapid frequency than most but I tend to fall into the one-in-a-million category when I do.

Sometimes it sticks with me for an entire match. A couple in Halo and Halo 2 spring to mind, both capture-the-flag, where I made nearly every capture. Funny thing was I took the same route three times in each game and only got stopped during the last run. During the Halo 2 match I was also drunk at the time, laughing my ass off through an open mic.

I usually play COD4 in short bursts, going on a small rampage each time.

When I'm playing in campaign (For any game) though, I tend to play for hours on end.

I was only ever in the zone in racers... then a lot. In Burnout 3 I was unstoppable. The last time I was in the zone in a shooter was Duke Nukem 3D.
