I always have a book that I'm reading. It depends on how much I get into it as to when I finish it. I haven't quite decided if I want to roll over into the e-book universe but I figure if I do that someday I'll end up reading a lot more just because I tend to be near my computer a lot more than I should be.

Every day. I like to have several books on the go at once, a mix of fiction and non-fiction. Soon I'll be starting an MA, when I expect I will be doing little else.

Pretty much every day, I just finished Hamlet (acting out all the parts on the way to my work experience) and have just stared The Wiseman's fear which (like Hamlet, but for different reasons) is amazing.

basically none at all then if going off your OP

i read HUNDREDS of articles a month, as they are actually useful and interesting, unlike most books

so outside of college, i hardly touch books at all, but actual reading? you bet your silly ass i spend hours a day doing it.

I have a Kindle, so I read a lot.

Speaking of which, if you are a reader, GET A KINDLE, I'm not even joking, it's a very good investment: super light, 3500 books fits in it, free 3G everywhere you go, purchased books download in seconds, screen looks like an actual page out of a book. . . seriously, they are really worth the generous price tag Amazon attachs onto it.

I don't read as many books as I used too. I mainly read books I have to read for college courses.

Back in Middle School though, I was really into the Silverwing series. Now those were examples of books that can grab a reader's attention and keep it for a long time.

I read, re-read, and re-re-read Discworld novels like paper and ink are the equivalent of air. At a glance around my bedroom, I have;
Autobiographies,
Fantasy novels,
Cookbooks,
Historical fiction and non-fiction,
Joke books (don't judge me),
Science fiction and non-fiction.
Military fiction and non-fiction.

At this rate I'm going to have to buy either one of those iBook or iLibaries or ei-i-ei-i-os that Amazon are selling at the momentor another shelf.

When I get the chance, one book a week.

However, I'm busy a lot of the time these days so it's down to about one book a month.

But what do I know, I though the Catcher in the Rye was bad. Actually bad. I would discourage anyone from reading it, it's a story about nothing.
See, that is one of the worst books to read 'for the hell of it'. It's actually very well written, and one should read it for analytical purposes, not for fun. Ultimately, it's a shit story though, I agree and to be fair I really wonder what JD was on when he wrote it.
J.D. Salinger had PTSD, and I believe he wrote partly to try and come to terms with it.

OT: Less than I should (damn internet), but having started my first year of uni, I have textbooks to read as well as novels. That being said, I am 150 pages into the first book about Drizzt (Homeland, I believe it's called), and about as far into The Magician's Apprentice. I've also recently bought books 2 and 3 in the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, and The Name Of The Wind. Should I need more to read, I've got The Complete Works of William Shakespeare on my shelf.

I hardly read books anymore, i really should, i used to love books!
Curse you internet...
Technical books count? If so then everyday, reading 4 atm, and having quick reads from another 2.

And actually, 4 of them i got from the internet, gigapedia FTW.

Literature? I am reading in cold blood, but haven't touched it lately.

My thanks for the factoid. Rather explains the almost caricatured nature of the protagonist and the layered story. Huh...

A couple of hours a day. Any more than that I get bored, as much as I enjoy it. I don't like doing one thing for too long.

I usually read every day. If I don't read every day, it feels like something is missing.
I try to read about 100 pages a day, often it is less because of the usual stress and stuff.

I was on vacation the last two weeks and I have read more than 2000 pages in 4 books (one was "1Q84" (book 1+2) by Haruki Murakami. Great book! :) I had my PSP and DS with me, there was also a TV but I have not played anything or watched TV.

I even have a book in the bathroom. I can't help it. I must to read! Everywhere! Sometimes even while gaming (in some games it is really easy to gain experience while doing something else^^; )
