How old is Commander Shepard?

With the help of the "mass effect time-line" (found on the wiki page) I found out that at the end of the first mass effect the commander is 29. so my question is how is Shepard in mass effect two, remember he died right at the start, so is he still 29 or do you the the years he was dead(making him 31)?

I believe the times during which he/she was dead don't really count though, but for conveniences sake the birthdays should be counted anyhoo Can't let these good opportunities for birthday parties go to waste, instead why not just catch up with them.

Or doubled it, considering all the tech they put inside him. Besides, didn't the lore say something about humans living much longer during the time period which Mass Effect takes place, thanks to advances in medicine and genetics?

I would definitely have to say something between 26 and 33. I mean he doesn't look to old and the graphics are excellent enough for you actually take note. I'm basing this assumption off of the original model you see on the covers.

Considering Relay transport is nearly instantaneous and Eezo prevents relativistic time dilation, not really

if you died then came back to life, would you be the age you died? or would you count your lost years?

Given that Shepard's life expectancy WITHOUT said project was counted in the negatives, I'd say the only possible result of Lazarus was that it extended that expectancy to some value that was greater than 0 remaining days.

As far as Citadel Security is concerned, my Shepard is still dead

He (she?) is about 31-32... He was 29 during ME1, and spend two years in Lazarus. What they never mention is how much time he spent between the end of Mass Effect 1 and the Normandy being attacked at the beginning of Mass Effect 2, but I guess its safe to assume it wasn't much.

That is not so important since in the Mass Effect universe 50s or 60s are the new 30s, so he could be in his mid 40s and still be considered young.
