12 years. Homeworld has yet to be surpassed.
Good answer, good answer! For some reason, Homeworld still feels newish. Weird to think it's 12 years old.
Homeworld's lack of real competition, and the way it was so ahead of its time, mean it's barely aged a day except in graphics. I think a remake with a new graphics engine, but otherwise keeping everything else the same, would be awesome.

Final Fantasy 8 or Person 4 for me so that's 12 years for ff or 18 nearly 2 years for persona 4.

I have two favourites, Bayonetta and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.
Not sure when Bayonetta came out in the UK, but I only recently got it. Enslaved was released in October, but I only got it last month.
Oblivion is my third favourite, and that's been out for quite a while now. Got it/played it almost as soon as it came out. Although Bayonetta and Enslaved are relatively new discoveries of mine, I just KNOW that they're going to be with me for years to come.

Sorry...that wasn't exactly just one favourite *blush*

EDIT: Bayonetta came out in Jan 2010, Oblivion came out in March (I think?) of 2006...does that sound right? Can't find conclusive evidence online...maybe I'm looking in the wrong place :D

It came out in 2000, and it is called The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It has held the #1 spot in my heart for 10 years now.

It's such a shame Homeworld 2 was so poopy, the first one was so good. I agree, it'd be awesome if someone would remake Homeworld or at least create a decent successor.

I would have to go with Final Fantasy 9. It was the first final fantasy I ever played and I just loved the epic story and ViVi. It came out in 2000 but I do not think I played it until about 2003 when I borrowed it from a friend one day. The next day I got my own copy.

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

It's my all-time favorite game, but don't ask me why it's my favorite game, but it is.

It was released in May 2003, so that makes it ≈7 years old.

FF9 was the last console-only game to get my Game of the Year. It had a brief sojourn in the bottom echelon of my Top 25 all time list, but fell off that list in 2005 or so, never to return (my top 25 is now PC-exclusive if you don't count multiplatform games like Elder Scrolls and modern Fallout.)

23 years old. Final Fantasy I.

Just downloaded the refurbished version for the iPhone and damn if I don't love it even more now.

The one thing that sets it apart from the rest is that you have to choose ONE party and stick with them through the entire game, so your experience from one play-through to the next can be very different in terms of game-play style and difficulty depending on your choices. Everything since III has been so flexible that really either everyone's the same or else there are only a few good options and everyone else sucks and is only there as filler.

Final Fantasy VII (1997) - between 13 and 14 years old. Just old enough to be a registered member of the Escapist.
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (2003) - soon to celebrate its 8th birthday. It's also the newest game in my top 5.
Final Fantasy Tactics (1997) - same age as VII. I didn't realize that until just now.
Vandal Hearts 2 (1999) - noticing a pattern yet?
Final Fantasy IX (2000) - I'm a Playstation-era JRPG fan with a bias towards Final Fantasy games. Sue me.

I feel so lame, but I'm going with World of Warcraft. About six years old now, I believe.
That game has brought me tons of game time filled with excitement. In the later years it felt more like a choir, but I had fun nontheless.
Runner up is God of War III. Not even a year old, but it was so damn epicly awesome.

Fun fact/aside: My main inspiration for playing Rome all the way through again was to settle the question in my head of whether it was still #1 on memories alone, since I'd debated putting Fallout 3 or New Vegas (if I ever make up my mind which one I think is ultimately better) at #1 all time.

I played the crap out of the Fallouts last month. But after playing Rome again, there's no doubt in my mind why it's still on top. Even though I've played it to death and beyond, it still holds up---I still listen to the general speeches, fercrissakes!

Pathologic was released in 2004 in Russia, 2005 in English speaking countries.
The Void was released in 2008 in Russia and 2009 in English Speaking countries.
Silent Hill 2 was released in 2001.
System Shock 2 was released in 1999.
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl was released in 2007
Half Life was released in 1998
So yeah, those six games are tied for my number 1 spot, and they are my personal favorites of all time.
But if I had to shorted the list to two games, that would be The Void and Pathologic easily.
