How original is your username and have you ever run across someone else who is using it?

Well, SC was the first game I ever played online, so I didn't have my awesome nickname yet, and i decided to name myself after my favorite Beatles song (clue: its about a walrus). When I started playing other games, I was officially "Freshman" so i started using that, but i got to XBL to late, and somebody already had it, so i tacked the adjective that may as well be the number 69 on the end, Ninja. Then one day, On MW2, i ran into the man who stole my name from starcraft, and in the most memorable kill of my life, i shot a 44 magnum into his head for the game winner (only kill I had on him, despite hunting him all game). I managed to get Freshman with no numbers on it hear though, and a few other online games and places, but yea people steal mine a lot I guess. Never ran into another Freshman Ninja.

EDIT: So I just googled it, Highly disturbed by the amount of Naruto content and the number of blogs some guy keeps writing about "ninja-ing" "Freshman" at "School". And then some thing about ballroom dancing.

I took my name from a place in the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind for the Tamriel Rebuildt forums years back. Later I found out that it's also the name of an old anglo-saxon (or pre-anglo-saxon, ain't competely sure) fertility god (also known as Tir, Tyr and a few other names) - so it ain't really 'original'. I've never met anyone use the same name, though.

However, I've talked to a few people who thought I was named after the little town in northern England that goes by the same name. That's a tad odd.

My name is derived from Tom Cruise (who was the lead actor of Mission Impossible 2, the movie that was playing in cinemas at the time I started using the internet) and Phoenix, my most favourite mythological creature. While I don't particularly like Tom Cruise (at least not anymore), I am still proud of my nickname. It is really unique and it is one of the few to have a surname. =)

Having said that, I did encounter it elsewhere...in a sense. The first time, back when I was an officer in a CoD4 clan, someone attempted to immitate me by using the same name and joining our server. It might have worked....if it weren't for the fact that I was in the server at the exact same time.

The second time, a guy that I often talk to over the Internet sent me a link to a novel where there is a character that goes by the same name and I was left dumbfounded. While I seriously doubt the writer got the inspiration from me, I am positive I didn't get the idea for the nickname from him. I never read it and I had devised the nickname several years before the book was even published.

Also, apparently, there is a scientific writer that goes by the same name.

I have seen a couple variations on mine. They always come from fans of its source material which is quite obscure. Anyone who knows gets a virtual cookie.

I've never seen anybody use mine. Ever. I got it from this show about puppets I watched years ago and this sheep used to scream it as he did some kung fu stuff. If anyone knows what the hell I'm talking about, please tell me what it's called because I have no idea (this is probably only a show in the UK, by the way).

My name isn't original because I stole'd it from Fable, yet surprisingly I haven't seen anyone use it like I do.

As far as I know mine is original, though credit for it ultimately goes to my brother.

While it may not be too original, I've never seen anyone else using it... It's simply name backwards :p (Yes, I'm from Norway dammit!)
You know, you're not the first Scandinavian I've come across who uses their name backwards... odd. Guy named Sindre using Erdnis.

anyway, I have several usernames but the one i use most and try to get if I can i've never seen anyone else using. However I often find that someone has taken it, e.g. UT3, battlefield 2, twitter my username is taken, though like I say i've never seen anyone actually using it.
I tend to use it in valve games mostly where of course there is no name reserving (which I think is a good thing BTW bacause it stops people having to resort to using numbers and symbols which is rubbish imo)

I seem to be the only Cpt_Oblivious on the internet, though someone on XBox Live has this name, but doesn't use it anywhere else. That news saddened me deeply.

Mine has no numbers, unnecessary capitals, is one word and comes from a game for the Gameboy advanced called Medal of Honor: Underground. (It was a code for one of the levels)

A few years ago my username was Snuzzguzler (???) which then changed to Snuzz.

I got bored of that though, and started using my initials, JWR, when I could...which then leads to JWR91 or JWRosser, just to, you know, give away my identity.

For FPS games I use the name Snowfox of a variation of it. Snowfox86 mostly if it's available.

I haven't run into any other Snowfox's, but in CoD4 I have run into SnowDogs and arcticwolf's. It's usually a grand battle by that point because for some reason we end up on opposite teams and pick each other off.

In other games I usually use names from characters in a book I'm starting to write.

Mine is original and I didn't create it. I am a fan of Mega 64 and made a costume of Horatio and at an Anime Expo Panel Derrick said the "Horatio Cosplayer" is here and I've been known as Cosplay Horatio ever since especially when they had their podcast about going to AX and Rocco sitting next to me in the theater watching Transformers before it was in theaters everywhere.

I thougt i was being creative with my Username...until i saw the Zero puncuation review of the Medal of honor: Airborne.
What did that review say about your username?
What is the meaning of your username?

:p
The review is about the game Medal of honor: Airborne and in the game there is a boss with a Gatling gun and was wearing gas mask, so yahtzee called him "Johan Gasmask" and that made me laugh because i was always drawing a character i called "John" or "Johan Gasmask".
My username doesint mean anything its just a name of a character i created.
