Brief lesson here:

When you end a name in "e", especially if it is a 4 letter name like Luke, it often changes the sound of the vowel. Okay?

With that in mind... My name is JAKE, not Jack! Do you see, the "e" makes the "a" sound more of an "ay" sound (like in "hay"). You would not believe how many people in my life just haven't got that right. It's not like it's a really complicated name or anything, just not so common up here.

Speaking of, I have a friend who has a name I deliberately get wrong sometimes just to wind her up. I'm mean like that.

Well, my username is 'fraught' and it's a relatively well-known English word, so I don't think anyone mispronounces it.

My real name is Johan, which is kind of a region-specific (Scandinavian) name, so many English-speaking people I've spoken to have pronounced it 'Jo-Han' (with kind of a 'Cho' sound in the beginning), while the right pronounciation is 'Yo-Han' (the 'Han' part being less Han Solo, more like the word 'Hun', as that is how an 'A' is pronounced here).

Well when people ask me my last name I say McDonald (MICK-DON-ALD) and sometimes they ask "MAC-Donald or MC-Donald?"

I JUST SAID MICK-DONALD! NOW CLEAN THE STUPID OUT OF YOUR EARS!

eh-hem. Sorry.

Try to pronounce my name (especially those of you living in english speaking countries):
KRZYSZTOF
Hi from America here. Probably going to be dead wrong but is it "CHRIS-SEZ-TOF" or "CHRIS-ZEH-TOF"?

With me it's mostly the spelling. I hate it when people spell my name (Rachel) as Rachael, Racheal or *guh* Rochelle/Rachelle. RACHEL is the original spelling of the name and I hate these modernisations because people spell my name wrong! *cries*

Jackson is hard to fuck up, although so SO tired of the MJ jokes and the 'sorry Miss Jackson' jokes it's untrue.

My gamertag is Little Rae Jay, which I've noticed people have trouble pronouncing the Rae (pronounced Ray). But that's it really.
Aye. I know all of the Jackson thing. Middle name. Still doesn't stop the jokes/smirks/asshat comments. My favorite recent joke is prbably "Shouldn't you be dead?"

HAR! HAR! HAR!

My first name is Chris. That's easy. But my last name...

Naccache (Nah-ka-chee)

No one I know could spell or pronounce this on their first try.

When Chizz was my regular-use name, I used to get so many jokes relating to a... certain bodily function... men do...yeah, that one...
One of the main reasons I changed my name. The worst I can get with FreelanceButler is probably the odd butt joke, which I've managed to avoid so far.

As for my real name, I think it'd be difficult to mispronounce Chris.
People used to forget the "h" when spelling it, but that was years ago, at primary school kind of age.

Chris Taylor is damn near impossible to mess up. But also the least imaginative name in the English language. (I've met two other people with the same exact first middle and last name.

I'm done being annoying now. (yes I watched the whole thing.

Bruuserd, Buzzard, Basaaard, Basterd, ******, Buzzy, Billy, and Bob.
all of those are true(btw, my last name is Brassard)

what I hate is when people try to put a french accent on it ad say "thats how its said", to them I say "its my fucking name and im in Canada, so fuck you I dont speak french"

People (American people) pronounce my name Creg rather than Craig, my name is not Greg with a C instead of G at the beginning! It is Craig! D:<

And my last name is Shepherd... people dont pronounce that wrong but they spell it wrong. When people ask HOW to spell my last name I just say "Correctly.". My last name isnt Shepard, Shephard, Sheperd... Its Shepherd, my ancenstors were actually literate.

On XBL my name is Thodins Hammer. Which is strange because people always manage to sneak an R in there and call me "Thordins Hammer". Its really fucking annoying, but the funniest I heard was a guy who called me Thodini's Hammer.

People seem to think the 'X' in my name is pronounced separately, so "X-ojins". No word in the English language that begins with 'X' is pronounced this way (X-ray doesn't count because it's a hyphenated word). It's pronounced like a 'Z' (see xylophone or xenophobia).

Hey, I get the opposite of that. My LIVE account has Jak in it and people always say Jake...

Since Sam is pretty generic, no one gets it wrong. But my last name is apparently the most confusing thing ever. It's 'Ferris', and I've had it spelled 'Feris', 'Fheris', and 'Farias'.

When people actually bother to ask the spelling, I just say 'Bueller'. They usually get it. I refuse to say 'like the wheel' anymore. And zohmbee is pronounced just like zombie, if anyone's iffy about that-- happened on Steam a couple times.

Next person to call me 'zuh-home-beh' gets shot.

I've been called "Lacksey" before.

In real life, my "friends" keep calling me "Spencey". It has the same number as syllables as "Spencer", for heaven's sake! If you're going to shorten my name, leave it at "Spence"!

People pronounce my name correctly (Unless they are unnable to read...) BUT they ALWAYS spell it incorrectly, My name is Ciaran and since it is the Irish way of spelling it (I'm not Irish... just got the weirdly spelled name) people spell it Kieran... *Sigh* but atleast I don't get written to often :)
