I'm inclined to agree. Although it can be funny when people embarrass themselves in that desperate bid for those coveted likes.

I post on 2 forums. I dont have my pictures online (except for a couple I had to do for work) and have no facebook, insta, twitter, toutube etc.

I think the base problem is the...hidden nature of it all. People aren't inherently creepy. Like going to the market or driving a car doesn't creep me out just 'cause there are other people.
But the idea I have no idea who is looking at my pictures online and what they're doing with those pictures. Creepy.

You also have no idea what those people who look at you in the market or that other car on the road are thinking. Of course, they can't do anything right there, because the number-one thing keeping people in line in public life is fear of getting punched in the face for being creepy.

Yeah, but they're not taking pictures of me at the market. They're not looking through photo albums of me at the market. They're not stalking me, going back years, at the market.

Unless of course they are taking pictures of me at the market, in which case that too is creepy.
