I kinda liked the mako when I pretended it was a boat (with pretty realistic boat motion), but but with the slowed down bullets in mass effect two, itll just be frustrating, (BRING BACK THE FUCKING FAST BULLETS)

Just give Shepard a VTOL gunship and call it a day.
I assume you are reffering to the hammerhead gunship?

(see previous post, cannot be arsed to say which)

Mantis gunship actually - though if Hammerhead works just the same way, then i can't complain.

Maybe a trading mini-game to get resources, and some sort of overlay that can go over a galaxy map to show spikes where planets are, but you have to slowly make it more accurate to pin-point exactly where the planet is or where something is on the planet.

From the old games,I think there could be a "best of both worlds" when it comes to to both Mass Effect's exploration mechanics, a fusion between the two: scanning a planet for a suitable ( read: quest-related ) landing site, where you drive around to accomplish the objective, or just drive around to admire the view.

However, if there were a situation where I had to pick either of the two, I'd settle for the old Mako driving- tighter controls, and believable physics would only make those segments better. ( As a side note: The Mako is not a tank- it's an APC- I believe that the Codex mentions that )

But, throwing it up there, seeing as the Normandy is equipped with a hostile insertion vessel maybe a boarding mechanic could be implemented, if you as a player have the appropriate psyche ( again, throwing it up there; ruthless and a long history of being a renegade ).

And, to make the package complete: some ship-to-ship combat. What we've seen before ( Freespace, Freelancer ) wouldn't cut it- Hey, the Normandy 2 is -huge-, don't expect it to be able to tail anything smaller than a cruiser.
It'd be interesting to see Shephard acting as the Captain of the ship, supervising the battle as the crew make it happen.

It might be too much, too different from what Mass Effect is; squad-based tactical shooting, but it'd sure sell me on the fact that yes, there are other ships out in space.

Like in Star Fox Adventures where you select a place to go to and then you have to avoid asteroids and grab rings on they way there, that would be truly awesome :D

I quite liked Mako, aside from the 90 degree angle driving, it just felt like a space vehicle.

Maybe a space shuttle?

I'd love to see the council finally help you with the reapers, then examine your ship, what happens with your ship EVERYTIME you go on a mission(ie:it gets shot at,ambushed by ginormous ships, infiltrated by collectors,etc...) and just go:"fuck it,here's a dreadnought.Shoot all of your problems away from orbit."

Riding an enormous freaking space octopus that shoots milk from its' tentacles and can fire VHS tapes from its' mouth.

I really can't think of anything. While, sure, you could alter it a lot and include a lot of depth and whatnot, that would probably take a fuckton of resources, and the rest of the game may suffer to bring you better space segments.

Still by galaxy map but now with no normandy to wiggle around, no fuel, no probes. Yeah, just like Mass Effect 1 but you press A to scan it once and the picture changes on the card. That's all i need.

Oh, and bring on a Space Sim. All the races and different designs, mass effect is the perfect choice

Well, seriously I would say the Hammerhead tank.

But then again, I would much prefer a robot octopus. With laser cannons! That can scale any valley, cross any desert and devour any enemy, synthetic or organic, in it's all-encompassing beak!

This, as previously stated, is an excelent idea. I could picture upgrading him for more speed, and the dialogue alone would be.... interesting.

Well, if this new vehicle is good, probably like that. But if it is not, people shall die.

You forgot to say "Ninja'd"

It's a tradition here at the escapist, when someone already said the same thing you did, and you are just realizing it.
