I did that puzzle when I was 11.
Actually it's very simple. You don't even have to think much, just make a table.

I.Q tests measure how good you are at I.Q tests.

I know, but given that there is no other way to actually measure intelligence it has to do. And there is a link between I.Q and actual intelligence. More intelligent people are more likely to have a higher score.

But not something to brag about, or judge a person by.

I wasn't bragging. OP said solving the puzzle would make me smarter than 98% of the world. Statistically I already am.

Wasn't this the riddle that Einstein said only 2% of the people can solve? I don't think that's an indicator for smartness as most people that get on well with maths will solve it without problems and those who aren't good at maths won't have an idea how to solve it.

Did in about 10 minutes. It seems hard, but you can just use a little tiny bit of trial and error and it's easy enough. Being not that intelligent myself, I doubt it's really that much of a test of intelligence, rather your patience.

It is more logic than anything, looking at the obvious. The whole '98% of the world can't do this' is to make it appear more difficult. PMA my friends. Even if it did take me a while :/.

Dammit, I'm drunk and I want weed, except I don't actually have the courage to ask the one person in my house who has weed if I can smoke it with her. Although that's mainly more because of the fact that I kind of fancy her and yet she already has a boyfriend (in France no less) so it'd be a bit awkward. Especially considering I'm not that drunk.

Anyway, back on topic before I get too sidetracked. It's the German. And no, I didn't work that out after six cans of Carling and several pints of Tuborg (probably the worst lager I've ever tasted). I already knew because this thread has been posted before. Though if I ever get the time and inclination to sit down and work it out, then I'll probably deduce the answer for myself. Hopefully...
