No, US uses foot-inch, UK uses metric

Canada uses foot-inch as well when it comes to height, which I never really understood why. We use the metric system for absolutely everything else, but for some reason when it comes to a person's weight and height, we never converted.

The irony being that even though he was actually tall for a western European at the time (cf Horatio Nelson was 5'4"ish) everyone in the UK still thinks he's a short-arse (apart from Stephen Fry, of course!).
