Actually it's not strictly founded in design...well rather it is, but indirectly. It's that way because consoles are the primary development platform and games are designed for consoles and console players. The points I raised are endemic to console games. I appreciate that some things would require extra work, but with forethought games which publishers plan to port to PC later can be improved with keeping such extra to a minimum or planning for it in pre-production. Plan ahead and appreciate that there are differences, marked ones.V8 Ninja said:While you do have legitimate points, Gambit King, I'm also detecting a fair amount of butthurt. A small amount of your points are in direct conflict with budget concerns and a select few directly tie into gameplay design/decisions but have minimal to do strictly with porting.
One can only hope that with the seeming bleak futures facing recently revealed, highly disappointing, next-gen consoles, the lumbering behemoth that is AAA development and the continued success of Kickstarter PC projects, the games industry is going to change and hopefully in favour of higher quality PC games and/or ports.
