Agreed but....Grimm91 said:This is Team Sonic we are talking about. They have no idea what quality is or what effort is.ZippyDSMlee said:I disagree look at mario its been done nicely in 3D the reason why they didn't change the basic formula much with sonic they try to hard to change it or not try hard enough to build a qaulity title out of it.There is plenty of room to grow it but its something called quality and effort and that's something the industry has issues with.Grimm91 said:There is no way to improve the series. It is better off to let the franchise die. I liked Sonic in my youth but as time went on I knew that the franchise was too far gone to ever be saved. But if the series was to live the developers should go back to the rodents roots.
Neither dose epic,MS,sony,2K,Edios,Bungie,nintendo....half the fcking industry....... has issues with it some have more luck not totally screwing a product up.
I am saying it can be done right just no now wants to do it right.

Musings on a better 3D sonic
First off you need solid and detailed level design look to Mario and Zelda for good level design, yes Sonic dose more than run through loops and rings he explores various landscapes which means he needs to wall grab or be able to use speed+ wall to run up it using his spiky ball form. The spike ball is his most powerful attack when augmented by speed, he should also be able to punch and kick, armored foes need to be killed using spiked form or another advanced attack, I would like for non lethal armored foes for to act like walls IE he can jump on them or wall jump/kick off from them to gain air and hopefully speed to crush the foe in a spike ball form or a powerful kick, when the creature attacks you can be tossed from it or take damage depending on what the creature is. Full running and fast walking would be the difference in max analog and medium analog pressure.
For more gameplay additions use items that can mimic other characters (knuckles wall climbing knuckles and added punch attack, tail?s tails for gliding/flying for instance).
Now we have some basics covered how would hit points be handled well Mario has the right idea you have 3 hearts that heal with coins well sonic can have that upgrade a heart every few thousand rings up to 6 or so max.
A speed mode is needed to handle the more race track like bits of the game, the speed mode basically brings the camera out some and locks it behind sonic,(you can tweak this mode in options to palace the camera and lock unlock it.)
Now Boss fights are more tricky, first off for some you need a arena or large area, this is where a lock on or slow mo button can be helpful to line up an attack when you are speeding around the enemy find the targeted area and pounce it while its uncovered or weak.
Slow mo can be done right, if you have played JK2 not only does the world slow but you can become faster, IE in slow mo mode you do not slow down, instead you operate at a more controllable rate.
All that?s left is gameplay fine tuning and general character designs.
Story wise I?d go with anything that predates Adventure and offer Eggman/Robotic mdoes, both work for the character but I am more fonde of him being called Robotic.
