To hell with people saying Pluto is not a planet when we all know it's the best planet and you can't go an decide that it isn't. All the other planets are former moons of Pluto and kind of strayed off.

When I was a kid, "My Very Energetic Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas."

Now? I like "...served us nachos." It works.

Also, my favorite mnemonic: "Rads Please Ghouls, Player Can Glow Badly". Cookie for knowing what it's for and where it's from.

People saying Pluto is still a planet is mostly Americans being pissed because now they didn't discover a planet in the solar system. Pay them no heed. On the other hand, the Moon may actually be a double planet with the Earth. Meh, screw definitions...

I dunno, I'm not good at coming up with mnemonics. How ever, I always remember the trigonometry one:
Sex On Hard Concrete Always Has That Orgasmic Affect.
And for the grammar freaks, I know that's the wrong usage of affect/effect.

You didn't specify which 8 planets.

Cookie for referance to all 8 WITHOUT using google, wiki or anything like that.

It used to be "My very educated mother just show us nine planets"

But now its "My very educated mother just sucked uncle ned" and no one wants that.
that... just made my day.

Anyway... yeah, I dont' have any more to say on the matter. That sentence just summed up our solar system.
Can't take full credit, I think I remembered the joke from ZeFrank.

I don't care what they say, Pluto was a planet when I was growing up and it's still a planet now. Stupid scientists.......

"My Very Easy Method Just sum up Nine-" and it stops there...
Yeah, it was planets on the end... But ol' Pluto... It's how I always remembered it, how I will always remember it.

Damnit, I learned Pluto was a planet and I'm classifying it as such, no matter what a bunch of astronomers say!

I'm so telling my Pre-Cal teacher that one. Do you have one for secant, cosecant, and cotangent? Mostly because sec and csc being the opposite of what you'd think it would be the inverse of.

Again a bit off topic because everyone has figured out the good ones. King Henry Died Drinking Chocolate Milk for memorizing Metric prefixes from kilo to milli.

But I think I have one for the 8 planets:
Many Villains Eat Mega Juicy Starbursts Under Narcotics

For the people arguing over 8 or 9 planets: I really don't care either way if Pluto is really a planet or not. If the scientists say it isn't then I'll go along with it.

Not sure why we need stuff like this to remember the names of the planets, seems pretty easy to remember. Of course that could just be me.

it's NINE EIGHT (even EASIER) NAMES
if you can't remember them, that is sad.
mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune, and pluto

Yeah I was pretty sure that you got it from somewhere but it was still golden so, half credit!

The argument about Pluto still being a planet is absurd.
As our our accumulated knowledge grows, so does our understanding of the world. It doesn't fit the criteria of a planet that's that. The only arguments against it are purely nostalgic

What if, when the "flat Earth" theory was disproved and it was brought to our attention the world was actually round. You wouldn't kick up a stink, saying "well I learned it was flat, so that is that"
