Went into Best Buy at 12 pm instead of 12 am and got both a good deal and sleep. A deal which, like many others, will probably last through Christmas anyway; Which is why we're not bustin' to buy the Kinect package, as they had enough to support the roof at 12:45 when we left. I spent the rest of the day laughing at the morons who got up so early to buy the same 360 holiday package that we did. Still, the tire iron I had prepared shall have to wait on the shelf for another shopping spree.
I said never again to crazy late night shopping runs after the holiday Wii shortage fiasco of 2006.
In the dead of winter(very cold and lots of snow), 5 days before Christmas, I lined up outside of the local Best Buy and waited for a couple hours. Then being the stupid workers they are, they waited until they were letting people in to tell us that they only had 19 in stock. I was the 20th person in line.
So I and the rest of the people did a mad dash to the local mall, waited a half hour for it to open, and then off we went to the first game store. They had 10 in stock, I was 11th in line. I and the rest of the people ran to the only other game store in the mall. They had only 9, I was 10th in line. As you can tell, I'm not a very fast runner.
It took four months before I found a store that finally got one in stock. Had a little fun with it for about a year and a half, then half a year later I got a Xbox 360 Halo 3 Fable 2 bundle.
The Wii will gather dust until I can get a job that will allow me my normal purchase power with the 360 and cheap old game buying power for the Wii, seeing as the WiiU is possibly coming soon, cheap Wii games will be easy to get, not that there are many I want to get(around 3 or 4).
But yeah, never again will I be one of those mad dashers at special sales. But, even though it wasn't that fun, it was a good life experience. You can meet some interesting people, that you will most likely never meet again.
