There were times when I was high school and I listened to electronic music: from goa trance to house, drum and bass and stuff. When I had enough of concerts and parties from that music I switched to metal and the sub genres... than rock and alternative, and than jazz, blues and soul. And I play classical music for 17 years now and contemporary art for the last 4, so... my playlist depends on the mood I am in cause I never quit listening to any of the genres, I just expand my views.

Odd varied.

I'll listen to almost nothing, but rock. However, if someone puts on George Micheal, I'm all in for it.

Really, makes me feel proud of myself.

My musical preferences aren't too varied.

Aside from one or two exceptions, my playlist is predominantly heavy metal, power metal, and symphonic metal.

I'll listen to most things but blues and folk seem to be the majority of what i'm listening to at the moment.

junekaya's super-eclectic score is

772/1000

As this number is larger, you have a more eclectic musical preference. People with scores over 700 have bragging rights. People whose score is below 400 should consider more musical styles!

And the regular one -

junekaya's eclectic score is

94/100

If your score is small (lower than 70) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80), then you have an eclectic musical preference.

According to those results I have pretty varied taste in music. (And I also get bragging rights.) Hooray. I listen to pretty much everything - I've even got bands that I perceive to be somewhat shameful, like Owl City and Slipknot, in my music library, alongside everything else I listen to.

Hahaha... Varied.
Yeah, I can tell you all about any Metal sub genre you'd care to know about... Anything beyond that, I don't care. I just don't like most other stuff. A few rock bands, like Muse, System Of A Down and Queen. But for the most part, I stick to my Metal. I do listen to all types of Metal though.
So my two most varied songs are "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas (just like that song. Don't care about the band) and "Disseminated Intravascualr Coagul" by Terrorizer. Tech Death there. Good fun.
And then there's the half way things, like Dream Theater.

Well I like Heavy Metal and Rock the most, but I listen to a lot of stuff. I love the Kinks, the Beetles and Fat Boy Slim. The only music genres I don't like is that punk shit, Greenday for example, and all the mainstream shit on the radio and at #1 these days. Justin Bieber is utter shite.

Very varied. I really do like everything (except rap/hip-hop). I love metal mainly, but game and movie soundtracks also have a space in my heart.

Everything, EVERYTHING, but metal.

Rap, Techno, J-pop, Country, etc. I can find stuff to enjoy in every single genre I've ever heard, except metal. Some examples that conflict:

Another World - Antony and the Johnsons
Master Passion Greed - Nightwish
Her Diamonds - Rob Thomas
Shakin' Hands - Nickelback
Carry You Home - James Blunt
Half Jack - The Dresden Dolls

The only genres that I am totally lacking in is classical (although I have some modern composers, Terry Riley and Steve Reich, and some post-rock, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, GY!BE) and world, but thats got nothing to do with my opinion on the genres, I'm just waiting for a point when I can throw myself into it fully.

I have roughly equal amounts of rap, metal, jazz and electronica.
Abba to Zappa
Feist to Faust
Slayer to Sleigh Bells
Fuck Buttons to Fucked Up

EDIT: Heh, this thread just made me go out and buy lots of world music on Amazon. Now looking into getting some classical...

Not techno, electronica. Big difference.
Something people don't understand unfortunatly. Not all electronic music is 'techno'. The term has become bastardized beyond belief.

This might help people who don't understand.

I listen to Drum 'n' Bass, house, alternative, punk rock, Aussie hip hop and hardstyle mostly with a bit of classic rock and metal (generally the more mainstream metal) thrown into the mix. I like most types of music the only genre I particularly don't like is country but even that has its good songs.

I can listen to most things. The only thing i really don't like are country, jazz, and heavier metal forms with growls and stuff.

Though on my mp3 there are currently a mix of classical rock, rap, EDM/House, power metal, pop, techno and Reggae.
