I suppose the most diverse on my iTunes list will be groups like Prodigy and Chemical Brothers contrasting with the Indigo Girls. I guess that is from brain melting electronic/dance (which I have to play as loud as I can stand it) to very acoustic, almost folksy.

I figure that so long as I promise to only listen with my ears and my brain I will listen to whatever the hell I like and opinions of others be damned =D

Oh, I also have "Lament of the Highbourne" very high on my play count as well as part of the Aion soundtrack - it might be geeky but its damned fine and nice to listen to.

Ah lets see.

We've got Iron Maiden, Jethro Tull, Billy Joel, Boston, Pytor Tchaikovsky, The Beatles Dispatch, Modern English, Pink Floyd, Benny Goodman, The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Reel Big Fish, Slayer, Rise Against, and throw in Catch 22 for the hell of it.

I can say that hip-hop, pop, country (although I have an appreciable amount of southern rock) and rap are probably the only genres not represented in my musical library, because I could keep going.

ABBA, Burzum, Alice in Chains, Bob Marley, Sepultura, Public Enemy, Queen, Depeche Mode pretty much all sums up the randomness of my MP3 player, all of which I enjoy as well.

I can listen to anything, really.

The music on my iPod ranges from Metal, to pseudo-metal, to punk, to ska-punk, and so on. There's some grunge, too.

EDIT: Holy shit, 3000 posts! PARTY!!!

I'm into indie, rock, alternative, electronic and lo-fi, including:
Grizzly Bear, The Antlers, Childish Gambino, The Depreciation Guild, Wavves, Interpol, Minutemen, Pavement, Jeff Buckley, Los Campesinos!, Archers of Loaf, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, The Flaming Lips, Brand New, Sufjan Stevens, We Are Scientists, American Football, Fang Island, Andre 3000, Team Teamwork, Weezer, LCD Soundsystem, Crystal Castles, My Bloody Valentine, Math Rock, Nomen Novum.

Check out my music taste: http://www.last.fm/user/ohhlua

Last.fm neglects to listen that I also listen to hip-hop/gangsta rap and southern rock/good country. I don't know how varied that makes me, but those are the things that I listen to.

Very, Very Varied. Techno, Metal, Rock, New Age, almost anything bar rap/dub-step/current mainstream. I can't stand it.

Pretty varied. The only genres I love are classic rock, indie rock, and alternative, but I also listen to some country, rap, pop, jazz, and classical.

I'm not very varied. I mean, I listen to all sorts of metal, but that's really it.

I'll go from listening to Iron Maiden to The Haunted to Sunn O))) or something seriously chinstroke like that.

Smile Like A Switch - Six Gallery
When - Opeth
Imaginary Places - Busdriver

Edit: I listen to indie math bands, most kinds of metal, classic punk, a few of the -cores, electronic stuff, starting to get some rap with Busdriver, pretty much anything prog. I quite like how my tastes are expanding :D Also I noticed someone posting their Last.Fm, might do that too. http://www.last.fm/user/lemurgibbon

I have the very strangest taste in music you'll ever here of guaranteed!!!!!! i dont like music and never listen to it unless forced to in a movie, i turn it down all the way in games unless it is some kind of game play mechanic. I only like one song it is "A few of my favorite things" and only when it is being sung by Julie Andrews which is why she is my profile pic. so i guess id say my taste music is extremely limited lol

As long as IT'S METAL, eh?

OP: Reasonable. My base would be in metal and punk, but I'm one of those people who'll listen to anything as long as it's good. What exactly makes it good, I don't know, but it's something.
All up in the this with this fellow.

Continuing my original point, I will, and have, go from listening to Porcupine Tree's lightest stuff to Carcass. So it may be all metal, but it's still varied.

You mean popular music? Because that's what pop is, popular. Or do you mean the shallow stuff that's on top 40 right now?

As a musician, well, as some one trying to me as musician-ie as possible, i enjoy all genres, but this is violently different. From my spotify list i've got Michael Buble to The Black Dahlia Murder to N-Dubz. Mental!
