Arent you not patriotic towards anything?
What?

I'm not patriotic towards anything.
Are you sure your just not just patriotic towards anything without being an extremist about it (IE are you sure your not just moderately patriotic?) or do you like the things that your not patriotic about without being patriotic about it?
Yep. Pretty sure.

Sure, I like stuff to an extreme (certain movies, games, books) but patriotism relates directly to loving your country, which is something I don't do.

Are you sure your not confusing country with government? Because as Mark Twain once said:"Patriotism is loving your country, and your government when it deserves it."
I see what you're saying, and since I do live in a "free" country, I have to love it to some degree, but my definition of a patriot is someone who loves his country and government unconditionally.

That is something I'm not. I find it hard to love your country, yet hate your government.

*A desperately needed snip*
What? Much to the contrary belief, the words country and government are not synonomous. Their's a difference between loving the ideals a nation was built upon and that people still charish and the current state of the government of that nation and it's direction.

Patriotism falls in the former. A person can love his/her/other'it's country yet not be fond of those currently in countrol of it.
Okay, well then I guess I am a patriot in a certain sense.

I love the ideals that the founding fathers built this nation upon, but I hate what its become. It has almost completely deviated from what the founding fathers originally had in mind.

So, I love the ideals and the bases, but I hate what the current government has made of it.

And what exactly is that, out of curiousity brought on by sleep depravation?
That it has become almost the exact opposite of what the founding father's had in mind IE a truly free nation in which simple things like freedom of speech are not questioned. Where church and state were completely separate. If the founding fathers still had control of this nation, we wouldn't even have religion.

I suggest (since you seem to be interested in patriotism) you read the book "Freedom's Frame"

Its actually very good and talks about all the stuff I'm referring to.
