I was just listening to my favorite radio station just now( http://www.kslg.com ), and I heard this commercial for some truck, and some idiot writer must have thought it would be a good idea to combine the words "truck" and "experts." I don't know how they spelled it, but to me it sounds like "truckspurts," a.k.a. that strange puddle on the ground after a truck got too excited.

So anyways, I just wanted to see if this massive bonehead move was nationwide, or just some idiocy cooked up by a local.

Also, please feel free to post any stupid commercials you've seen/heard.

Why couldn't they have just said Truck Experts. It's much easier on the tongue and the mind.
Exactly. I mean imagine if some little kid hears this, turns to their parent, and asks, "Mommy, what's a truck spurt?" Think of the children!

you know what?
making up words isn't stupid.
calling that stuff stupid makes you sound like a total douche, though.
have to put it out there sooner rather than later in this thread,

Is stupidity putting too many i's in the word stupidity?

I kid, I kid.

But I agree with Snooty, truck experts is easier to say and you would immediately understand what they mean, as compared to truckspurts.

Stupid advert I saw was for a kitchen towel product called Plenty. It was advertised by a Spanish man who said that all you need is 'One Sheet' to clean up the stain. Except that because of his accent it made it sound as if he was saying 'One Shit'.

Nowhere in my original post did I put down making up words in general, I simply stated that this particular one was a bad idea, since it sounded frankly disgusting. Now that you bring it up, however, that the more "words" that are made up, the less value the English language has. It's one thing if there is a new idea behind it(I know that somebody had to make up words like quantum), it's another when it's something that requires so much of an explanation that it would've taken less time to have used a preexisting word.

They should bring back Brenda and Audry for those ads, I don't like Juan Sheet at all
