This is a serious question. What do you think will finally kill off the human race?

Asteroid collision? Disease? Nuclear weapons? Sun dying?

I frankly have no idea. It would be interesting to see how this species does die, I think everyone would agree that this planet is better of without us.

Or alternatively mabye we'll find away to migrate out of this solar system and poison the rest of the universe.

The Sun dying would only count if we were to only stay on this planet, this solar system and live long enough for it to die.

The more likely scenarios are Nuclear Weapons, Asteroid Collisions or Diseases as you have suggested. But i'm not sure which ones are more likely. NW (Nuclear Weapons) could be used in a future conflict as conflict is almost inevitable on this planet, I also think I heard that a large Asteroid is meant to come very close to Earth soon so that might cause it.

Disease... I don't know. Unless its an extremely deadly one and hard to find a cure for, then I doubt it.

Temporarily, disease seems likely.
Followed immediately by war, which at this point, is quite capable of ending civilization even without nukes (our potential for biological weaponry is far far scarier than radiation, no joke).

Post-civilization, it's difficult to discern accurately, because dammit, if we aren't so ingenious.

In the extremely-long term, we have the guarantee of our planet's core guttering out (finally expending its uniquely extended nuclear fuel supply) and ending the geologic cycle, the sun going Red Giant and broiling us to death, or the inevitable collision with the Andromeda Galaxy (no joke, it will happen eventually).

Overpopulation > Not enough food/water to sustain us > Many starving, Fighting over resources > War, and lots of it. > irreparable damage to the planet (Radiation etc) > Bioweapons (D=) > most of humanity dead.

Alternatively, see 'The day after tomorrow' except we all die.

I am actually a fairly proud humanist. I reckon humanity is more than capable of surviving the fate of the earth, escaping to space and enduring all the hardships of the universe.
Entropy or heat death will probably get us in the end, or maybe we will have developed sufficient technology to escape even that. Whatever it is, I doubt we'd go quietly.

Humans will start to improve their own bodies with robotic and genetic implants and replacements and will no longer be human.

With a whimper.

As the universe expands and becomes less spectacular, so too will the human race, untill we quietly fade into oblivion.

I'm gonna go with the Fallout line of thought.

The planet will run out of fossil fuels, and every country on earth will nuke each other in the hopes that they might kill whoever is gonna kill them before they get killed first. Then anyone left alive might be able to claim what little resources are left and then die of radiation poisoning.

Either that, or we meet a bunch of aliens who drive the human race to extinction as a favor to the rest of the universe.

I think it's less how we get to the apocalypse but more how unprepared the human race will be when it comes. Too many of us are lazy and fat and too few of us would do anything near well in such a hostile environment.

Alternately, mankind could merge with the machines he creates, in a kinder, gentler Matrix sort of way. Once those machines are given (or spontaneously evolve) intelligence and virtual reality become indistinguishable from the real thing the machines simply phase us out by giving each of us exactly what we want, untill we all die of old age with no younger generation to replace us, at which point they can they move on with the serious business of re-making the planet to their liking.

The world will end in a self-fulfilling prophecy. Because mankind can't help but prove its superiority over mankind.

Nuclear weapons, in an act of self-righteousness.

My number one guess is nuclear war. All it takes is one nuclear-capable nation to press their big red button, and pretty much everyone else will follow.
Disease- either a manmade supervirus or a Gaia hypothesis-style world cleansing- would be my second guess.
I think the odds of any celestial event- asteroid collision, sun going red giant, etc.- taking us out before we finish ourselves off are slim to none.
