well if we don't manage to kill everything via nuclear war the most popular ways for the world to end are as follows and in no particular order

1 super volcano, such as yellowstone, blowing
2 cometary impact
3 sun going nova
4 black hole
5 magnetic pole shift causing the loss of the earth's magnetic sheild

it will be one of those or the fallout from one of those things that kills off the planet for a bit

i´d think global warming. at some point it will just be too much. if we dont stop producing Co2, we will be like atlantis in a 100 years. if not, might be a nuclear war or if the Big Bang Project failed.

When at least 1 billion people read twilight, the world will implode as a result of mass retardation. Either that or the traceurs will forge an alliance with the freerunners and take over the world.

Yes, as Max said... It is not wise to anger MaxTheReaper... You're lucky he hasn't replaced your soul with a cardboard cutout, and your heart with a potato...

IMO, though, I think that there will be no end to the world...at least not the planet earth.
I think that humans are eventually going to leave Earth for greener pastures, giving the planet time to heal itself and get back to normal. While we humans roam the galaxy, increasing our real-estate and making smart planets that have societies that are in tune with their new surroundings and don't fuck up the new planets too badly. I hope to be on one of those first colonization missions to an earthlike planet.

My bet is that the world, by which I mean the actual planet, will last until the sun goes super-nova and consumes it. As for our own civilization, we could very likely last just as long. However, my guess is that over population of the Earth will cause an issue with too much crowding and we will run out of resources, possibly sparking a conflict over what small amount of resources are left.

OR

Cylons. Preferrably the Tricia Helfer kind.

"All of this has happened before. All of this will happen again."

Again..again....again...again...again....again.....again...again.

End of Line.

We probably will create the new ecosystems. Terreforming. If the planet had all the necassary elements and such, but was barren, we could simply shape it to fit our desires instead of having to worry about destroying an original ecosystem.

Our own stupidity, if we don't minimize the museum of our mistakes and begin to live like the first. Who needs those prothetics, we are used to live with? If we only use this energy, that we bring in with our bodys, maybe we can repair our system. We are part of a living being and i don't call it planet, i call it planer, because it is our manifested central brain. Live with it, as if it is yourself and there may be a chance, that it will last forever.
