I've been writing a movie for a while and in the sequel I'm planning on having the government dealing with the backlash of a zombie outbreak. It's sort of like the new 9/11.
People capitalize on the fear in infomercials and (real) survival guides.
Would politicians use it to get elected?
So, how do you guys think a real zombie outbreak would alter our politics and economy? Or effect anything I haven't thought of.

I think Zombies would effect the US economy the way if I had a rabid wolverine gnawing my leg off. The first person that offers help is my new best friend.

Isn't the joking reference in the Zombie Survival Guide that the American populous is too overweight to really be able to survive one? If that is the case then I'd say it would alter it dramatically - martial law, soldiers in the streets and the slow slow crumble of the government.

Or a couple of tactical thermonuclear warheads and problem solved.

there would be no government after a zombie out break because there isn't a real way to stop it

upon becoming apocalyptic only few factions of humans would remain and forced to fend for themselves and doing what is needed to survive

think cave men thats how we'll live

I think all the infrastructure would collapse. I'd say the United States would be divided again, if you get me :p

Economy would be affected with less luxury consumer goods being bought i.e. cars, fashionable clothing, etc.

World War Z Answers any qestions you may have about how things would go. it is actually a fairly realistic novel about the "fictional" Z-threat

"Obama promises not to eat you, but only to enslave you. Where as the other party has made no such promises. They are chaotic evil zombies."

I second that motion, World War Z is a realistic representation of what would happen when the zombies attack, I'm just hopping I won't be one of the people that's left behind as bait

many governments would still function if they closed of their borders fast enough.
