How would you compare andrew garfield to Peter Parker from the comics?

Like the title saids his do you think garfield is similar to Peter in the comics?

No. He's way too 'cool' to be Peter. I mean seriously, what kind of nerd has a skateboard?

Not really Garfield's fault though. I'm sure he if the writing was good he could have portrayed Peter Parker decently.

He's a modern day geek and geeks today ride skateboard. He wasnt portrayed as cool but more awkward and geeky

Visually? Yes. Personality-wise? A bit too cool. Peter was never cool in a cool way. He was always cool in a relaxed way. The kind of guy who's sexy in a non-threatening way. Say what you like about Tobey Maguire. At least that guy looked like a glasses-wearer.

I don't find him very relatable. One of the things I liked about the comics was that Parker, when he was at his best, was always kind of grounded.

Maguire was a caricature of a nerd. Not really a person at all
