Basically I want to discuss peoples opinion on playing with others in skyrim , there is actually a mod ( still in alpha) thats trying to accomplish this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vAALSMnkt9w heres a small demo

I know skyrim and other elderscrolls are incredible single player experiences and many people want it to stay
that way and I agree I wouldnt want elderscrolls to change but I dont think adding co-op will detract from
that since you can easily just play on your own, I personally would absolutely love to play skyrim with a few friends and just go around messing things up, im also asking how would you fell if elderscrolls 6 or fallout 4 or any other open-world beth game featured co-op from the start?
EDIT: FIXED LINK

I'm having a hard time thinking of a gaming universe less well suited to co-op game play than Elder Scrolls.

there are a lot of possiblities doing COOP in elderscrolls I agreee that it shouldnt affect the singleplayer experience in anyway, but it could be a lot of fun messing quests around or conspiring with your friend to rob the markarth museum or just taking over a city for fun, im just saying it shouldnt hinder the SP experience but it could be bundles of fun if its officially added ( doasnt have to be balanced either)

I'd go for it if they ramped up the difficulty while the coop was engaged so another player added on didn't make it too easy. This would mean you could combine roles such as a warrior adventuring with the healer combo etc.

Oh and as long as it's made AFTER all the awesome single player content is fully completed then yeah it would have my full approval.

I hate using companions in skyrim because they still MY KILLS, so I would hate having a player doing it. I don't see adding co-op a good thing because I have extreme bloodlust. now shooters not so much but these types of games need to stay single player.

I don't see how it would change the game one bit. Skyrim already uses Companions, what would change if the companion was a human instead of an AI? Virtually nothing, except now you're companion wouldn't be as retarded as they can be now.

Hell, if anything, it could be used to provide a greater challenge as now you've two humans instead of a human and an AI.

Yeah... No. I'm not even a big fan of Skyrim (really can't get into it) but keep the co-op away from my meaty solo RPG's. At most, some kind of PvP arena so people can prove who has the better character.

Generally I think multiplayer experiences only work if they're fun. "Immersion" and MAJESTIC landscapes don't fit tonally with a game that is played socially.

I agree, but Skyrim is in my opinion such an unimmersive game that I really wouldn't mind some coop. Same goes for Kingdoms of Amalur, though that's not the game in question.

Ha! It sounds like SOMEONE hasn't spent a lot of time playing MMOs.
Oh I know how stupid some people can be in MMOs but I'd like to think you wouldn't invite a complete tosser into your co-op game. Unless you get some sort of sick thrills by having them around.

Also, the link you posted OP is to an E3 playlist, not a multiplayer Skyrim mod but I think I know the one you're talking about anyways.

I'd be all for Coop in skyrim, but it would have to be done well. And not MMO sort of millions of people coop. I think just 1 other person, tops.

Up the difficulty or something, and it won't break the game. any more than 2 people in the game, with the way the game is broken, would just be terrible. But spending time in any elder scrolls game with a friend would be great in my book. Wouldn't ruin a thing. Just have the second person not be special.

Obviously it would have to be separate from the single player mode, but I feel that exploring Skyrim with a friend would be a blast. I wouldn't want random players joining my Co-Op world and screwing it up, but I would have loved exploring a huge area with a good friend.

As long as we could still have the classic Elder Scrolls single-player I wouldn't see the harm in adding a light Co-Op with friends.

Im not talking about inviting random people or random people being assholes that can ruin any game, im talking about inviting your friend to play with you , exploring skyrim with your friend could be a ton of fun and some sort of seperate battle arena would be awesome , doasnt have to be all that balanced TBH

Fixed that for you.

OT: Skyrim. With coop.

Do I really have to say it.

Now, an entirely different (also: new) ES game? Yes, then it is allowed to exist. It might even be enjoyable.

I dont think it will affect your experience that much DoPo it should be a completely optional thing , im Just discussing the possibilties of things you could do with it

I would absolutely love coop in Skyrim. I mean, most people already use companions, so this will be just like that, except your companions will actually be somewhat useful for once.

Playing with friends is always more fun, and it's not like the story in a ES game has ever been hugely important, it's all about exploring a wide open world. Why wouldn't that be fun with some buddies?

And I agree that an ES game with coop could actually be cool. Not Skyrim, though. That would be a huge headache, if you ask me.
