Stuff all the high ranking executives that are too stupid to have contingency plans into the leak 'til it was sealed.

There, now they're dealing with it like they said they would.

I personally would light it on fire. Burning it does less damage in the long run. Before someone says Carbon emissions think of this: that oil was going to be burned regardless.

not necessarily true. Simple erosion could have gotten down to the oil which would have resulted in an "oil spill". If it can happen with methane pockets it can happen with oil.

How about they take the pipe out the ground? It can't keep spewing stuff out if it's not there, right? (I don't know much about the inner workings of oil rigs)

You'd think that a company that makes it's money of a dwindling supply of resources would do everything in it's power to make sure it doesn't lose Billions and potentially destroy the environment, since people are all for saving it theses days. Why are the people who make the most money in the world always morons.

On a side note, how much do you think fuel prices are going to go up because of them?

Well my joke answer is "nuke it" but they seem to actually be considering that [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.199475-Plans-to-nuke-BP-oil-spill-gathers-steam]. So honestly I don't know what to think anymore.

As I previously stated: re-elect George Bush, he knows how to handle oil in foreign territory.

What would be so bad about a temporary rubber/plastic/nylon bag solution? I get that it's an irregular output so it's impossible to cleanly marry-up a pipe to the ragged edge, but why not just wrap a "bag" around it and have the collector end attached to the other side? It's not a perfect or permanent solution, but they could have at least reduced the output for a while while they figured out what to do.

I would just set it on fire but then I would probably have to repeat the begining to this song OVER AND OVER

Relief wells are what will ultimately work, and they are doing it. They just take a long time to drill when they're that deep. Maybe next time they won't "modify" their safety equipment.
