I was kind of surprised that I lost a block by merely mentioning that I used a certain application to prevent certain things from showing up on my screen in a topic concerning certain things showing up on a certain website you guys might spend a lot of time on.

I think it's fine. Apart from the obvious lack of lasers/tits/fire.

Apart from warnings being...official. I'd much prefer to have a mod PM me and tell me to stop being a dick than have it be automatic and count towards a punishment.

I'd take it away, it's a bad idea...
I dunno about that. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone permabanned for something seemingly minor, only for the mods to then have to explain that this was his 18th warning or some such. Remember the controversy over MaxTheReaper? The Health Bar adds clarity, if nothing else. Granted, it could probably be done better, but the overall concept isn't so bad.
It could be done, much, much better. The way it is now is just terrible. If you can't gain back health, then others shouldn't be able to see it. Say you got lots of probations and maybe a suspension or two around the time you join, then a year or so later, you've gotten the hang of the forums. You're a decent forum-goer, not doing much wrong, but your health bar is still in the red, so now people who doesn't know you on the forums can click you're profile and assume that you're a complete asshole (which will happen). And worse yet, you could get pissed off at someone for a perfectly legitimate reason, and because you cursed one too many times, your past mod wrath earns you a perma-ban.

Basically, the system should be more forgiving, and less stupid.
I see what you're saying, and I agree that it should probably be private. Point of clarification, however, you can gain health back. Slowly, to be sure, but (as posted above), 6 months without warnings to lose a level, 2 years to wipe clean regardless of level.

Is that too slow? Probably, I'd likely change it to 3 and 9 months, respectively (and I just pulled those numbers out of my ass, btw), but I really don't think the concept itself is so awful.
Was that amnesty section added in afterwards? I'd honestly never noticed that section.

Still, the mods can be a bit stupid misunderstanding, not mention they've been encroaching on the forum games' free speech a bit lately.
That's certainly true. Hell, I've seen enough people over the last few weeks who've said something to the effect of "I'd say my opinion, but I'm afraid of the mods" to see how that comes into play, and it is a real problem. It'd be a problem with or without the health bar, though.

Replace the bar with blood that appears on the screen. The blood gradually disappears after a few weeks without mod wrath.
What, you mean like a Call of Duty style bloody screen? That'd actually be pretty funny XD

Is said application illegal? If so, that's why. They've said that many times before, their hands are sort of tied there.

I don't think its a good idea.

It also says that I am maxed out on warnings, but I don't think I've ever had a warning. I did get suspended once though.

Its pretty lame, but I don't really care that much now that I don't use the site much.

Let us see the offending post(s).
I've got a warning and I don't have a clue why.

Have it be an option to show your health bar on your profile.
Come on, you know you like having everyone see you've got 4 bars. Actually, they should make it visible near the avatar. How long do you think it'd take before people started judging people based on health bar if it was right there on the avatar?

6 months/2 years seems a bit long, I'd probably half that, and make the moderation appeal processes less useless. I tried to appeal something and got no response, and it has been months.

I would lower the amount of time needed to lower animosity. Maybe relate it to what your health is. For instance, if you only have one warning, you lose that in a month, two warnings take two months to get rid of one infraction(so it overall takes four months to get back to zero,) three take three months, with the last warning being the six months already established. That way, people who constantly end up with infractions are the ones shouldering the most responsibility while those with just a few who made a mistake can quickly regain their status.

I think that the health bar should recover faster, I'm going to be stuck with a tarnished record for 6 months just because I made 1 low-content post when I first joined...

In fact I think extremely minor things like that shouldn't take a bar of health at all unless it's a repeated offence or something. After all, weren't warnings supposed to be to explain what you did wrong so that you know from then on, rather than actual punishments?

I'd doodle a penis on mine but then again I'm fairly pleased with this system and don't feel there's anything more that needs to be done about it except enhancing the look of it. Maybe we could open a store where we can buy and trade hats for our health bars? After all massively enhanced TF2.

More cowbell.

But seriously, it seems good to me. Maybe make it private, so only you can see it, I find seeing how many warnings other people got weird.

Mine is empty. Preserve the status quo, because for me the status most definitely is quo.

Maybe give it lasers. Nothing can't be improved with lasers.
Or fire. Love your avatar, BTW.

I don't know... I only think about it when I look at my profile(rarely) it's not very healthy but I don't see myself making it worse.

maybe reverting it back to how it was although I can also get why they chose this new system.
