I'd do something akin to what they did in footloose when the banned dancing.

Ignore the law.
Its not as if they can stop me from playing games in my own home, the police just won't enforce that kind of law, too much effort for such a small problem.

it would probably depend very seriously on the book, what did you have in mind?

i would probably be safe, thanks to the fact that i play virtually no very violent games. let's see someone ban chess and say that that is to protect people from being violently murdered.
oohh, i dont know, Jack the Ripper, some book that describes step by step how he disembowels people or such (i have read some but dont remember the name), it would also work if i raped girls and blamed it to the books of "Sade" (i have read some too) or something like that, obviously something in tune, people have to realize how stupid it sounds that a "fictional" setting would make someone do anything.

First I'd spend about five minuets with my jaw on the ground, then I'd realize what had happened and begin stock piling weapons.

i would probably use my pally bubble, immunity against everything and just start running around swinging a giant spear and having wings strapped to my back, until i die ofcourse, but yeah, just start at my house and find my way back to my corpse and rezz, or wait for a priest to come along and rezz me

With the conterversy around games by political idiots say "they brainwash the kids!!! they become murders!!!", imagine if they banned video games world wide.

How would you react, just for arguments sake.
Ebay, easydone. Also, it will never happen as they've recently proven videogames are good for keeping the brain active and preventing alzheimers, hand-eye coordination and to a certain degree (with online games) good for social interaction.

I'd probably go protest like everyone else.

If I decide to do it in public, I'd dress up as a character from Team Fortress 2.

Ban games? It's pretty much the only industry which goes well during this crisis.
Any way if gaming were banned world wide, I think some of the following are likely to happen:

-Mass Suicides.
-Illegally gaming anyway (same thing as what happened to drugs, but on a larger scale).
-War (Gamers gathering world wide to conquer a nation of their own, a nation where everyone has the right to game. If the gamers win a new Call of Duty will be based on the Game War/WW3, finally something different than WW2.)
-Killing Sprees (What did they expect?)
-Acts of Terrorism (Like real life Counter Strike).
-A lot of vandalism.
-Politicians and Jack Thompson being assassinated.
-World wide anarchy.
-A series of violent events, ultimately resulting in the human race going extinct.
-People for who games were the only thing that stopped them will finally start/continue their quest for World Domination/Destruction.

Whatever would happen, a lot of people will die.

personally i'd be a lot more concerned about the new world order that popped into being overnight that apparently has the power to pass international law.

Keep playing?I mean I smoke a lot of Pot and thats banned as well.Doesn't really make it harder to get does it?
Yeah, I'm with ya.

Threads about marijuana come up with some frequency on the escapist. Seems like most of y'all are staunchly against it for one reason or another. Now, I'm an occasional user, and I have no problem with folks who just don't like the stuff, but the argument comes up a lot (from those who are willing to concede that weed is not *wrong*, or *evil*) that "It's illegal, dummy. Don't do stuff what's illegal."

..anyway, judging by this thread, the majority of "escapists" would gladly keep playing illegal games, if they were banned. So, yeah. Don't hate on potheads who aren't hurting anyone (arguably themselves, but the same could be argued for games). Games aren't gonna get banned in any future I can imagine, but if they were, the majority of you would be counterculture criminals, am I right? Just like us filthy ganjaphiles!

Well, after the rage subsides, I'd calmy write a letter to the government stating my opinion that what they just did had no use what-so-ever and tell them that people will still play Video Games. Then I'd tell them to deal with a real problem. You know, like world hunger.
