I probably would of been in a different gaming like site at some point as I still need something to pass the time.

I probably wouldn't have as many great games as I do now. I probably would have been a bit more productive. But I wouldn't have gotten into writing reviews (I have a few I haven't posted. I'm too shy 
) And that's been really fun for me. I also would have found it harder to get through a rough patch I was having.

He had quite the following on youtube (myself included) before he became an Escapist. He probably would've ended up doing a weekly segment on Xplay (they were featuring ZP reviews for a while; bleeps of course) then started his own site after that whole network went to crap...or who knows he might have been able to save g4.Shoggoth2588 said:

But seriously, I would be without a decent, comprehensive gaming website with some nice webseries on the side. I love what the escapist does (despite the recent problems with very LOUD advertisements when trying to watch their videos). It's done some to expand my gaming interests. I certainly wouldnt be laying consortium at the moment if it wasnt for them.

Minimal impact to basically none at all. Just one less site to post on and kill time. I'm here for the forums. I used to visit to watch Yahtzee, but I've since stopped quite some time ago, even before that 'You are all twats/I hate comments article'
The only show on here I do watch is No Right Answer.
Anyway, I'm kind of rambling. Oh and the groups are always fun for a chat. The JRPG club usually convinces me to try a title or two that I wouldn't have before.

Jeeeezus, my life would be totally different.
I wouldn't have as many awesome friends as I do now and no one decent to talk to.
I would possibly be still with my ex and probably unhappy. He wouldn't have gone batshit insane like he did and abused me for as long as he did for getting close to another guy I met on here. Or maybe he would have, I'm sure lunatics like that would have been set off by something else eventually.
I wouldn't have needed therapy. I'd probably be a bit more care-free if I wasn't with aforementioned ex.
I wouldn't have met my current boyfriend and be as happy as I am.
So yeah, a HELL of a lot different.
If any of this sounds a bit confusing, it is to me too haha.

Honestly, I think there would be a couple of relatively big changes for me (yeah, yeah, I only joined four years ago, I don't care). First, I doubt I'd be as interested in games as an art form as I am now. It wasn't the Escapist alone that turned me onto this viewpoint, but it was definitely a large contributing factor.

I have no idea, this place and the people I've talked with over the years have actually affected me way more than I'd care to admit, my personality would probably be very different, I don't know it's hard to say, it would be quite different though.
I would not know a lot of the things I know today.
There are some smart people on this site, and arguing/deabting/discussing with these people give me new ways to see things.
I would probably not have another so compact lexicon of movie / game info in one place
But if looking at something like, work, interests, among others, I doubt it has changed me in any way. The main thing for me is getting information about the movie/gaming world and what's going on there. But I have put some time into this website, so as I said, info!

Without the Escapist, I probably wouldn't have discovered the content creators and gone on to seek out their other output elsewhere.

I also might be possibly dead, as this site actually became a huge source for me to make intellectual posts (and never get responses) about games and other things I liked, which made me feel like my voice and opinions had some matter, aiding my recovery from depression/teenage angst.

I think I wouldn't have gotten into video game journalism that much. I would have never been so interested. I never would have known Zero Punctuation, and over a few corners I wouldn't have gotten to TotalBiscuit, probably my favourite internet-content-producer-person. Also, The Escapist is one of my primary video game news sources. So quite a bit about my hobby would change.
Honestly, it wouldn't be too much different. I am on here a lot, and I love it here, but nothing life changing has really happened to me because I became a regular on the forum. I've made some online friends, I get to post my opinions on gaming which is pretty cool.
Not sure what I would be doing otherwise, I have other sites I go to daily and to be honest. Posting on the forums are my favorite part of the Escapist now, I like the content here, but it's not something I live to watch. Zero Punctuation is the only thing I make sure to watch every week. So, not much different, but it would be a little less charming.

I probably wouldn't be as invested in gaming politics, journalism, and the companies behind games if The Escapist never existed. I also get a lot of news here about games, like Kingdom Comeeliverance.
As a big one for me, I may have never gotten into anime. Thanks to some guy posting the most epic scene from Highschool of the Dead I started liking anime. I may currently be more invested with the myanimelist forums if this one hadn't set such a high standard for moderation that I am know used to.

There's a metric fuck ton of laughs, informative articles, news updates, industry reports and many more that I would have missed out on.
Personally?
- I would be more productive.
- I would never have gotten into creative writing.
- I wouldn't take such a critical eye to gaming. (For better or for worse)
- My tastes would be severely limited, it's amazing how much amazing experiences I have had just through word-of-mouth on these forums. (I never would have gave Dark Souls/Odin's Sphere/Second Sight a second glance)
- The plethora of insightful content gave me many laughs and even greater food for thought.
- Not to mention the great people that I have met here!
