The world should just blow up without anybody knowing it and were all just going about are normal and depressing lives without knowing what happened and then we would float in space dyeing of no air while wondering: did i leave the stove on?
Personally, I'd like a airbourne desease that kills 100% of the time, with only one symptom. Extreme horniness. Giving everyone 48 hours to live for one huge planet wide orgy.

Zombie apocolyspe. Definitely. I'd probably go out the same way Robert Neville did (in the 2008 movie, not the original book or one of the other movies): fight until I'm out of ammo, then bust out a giant grenade and take the last of the ones in the area with me.
It's unoriginal I know but I'd take zombie apocalypse, if only to test the effectiveness of the contingency plan for such an event that my flatmate and I came up with when bored one day.
I have my doubts about the structural integrity of the front door, it being mainly made of glass, but that aside I still reckon we have a fairly cracking plan.
Of course should the event ever occur trying to find an audience who are suitably impressed with our ingenuity and foresight will probably be fairly tricky. Ah well, such is(/was?) life.

Remember from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy how Earth was really just a giant computer? My scenario involves what happens 14.5 seconds after Microsoft buys up the rights to the operating system of that computer and tries to improve it:

How do i want it to end? I want it to end like it really is going to. The sun is going to get really huge and red. It will expand until it gets very close to the Earth. Then over a couple of billion years it will get cooked until it looks like Mercury. it will be the end of Earth as we know it as it will then be just a dead hot rock floating in cold space. Then after that it gets even worse as the Sun decides it will run completely out of fuel and burn out. Then it will be just a frozen dead rock in the depths of frozen space. Eventually it will most likely get swallowed up by some massive black hole and then it will really be gone. Man I love science.
i wouldnt mind a hellgate-style apocalypse, i could see myself as either being the very first to die or being the guy who would lead humanity in the final war-charge to the hellgate.
