so I'm going through my 360's back catalog and I'm thinking about playing it. It would be my frist DMC game, and really first action game ever in this style.
How is it?

You sure about that? You fight them once as Nero, then once as Dante. Now im no expert on math, but im somewhat certain thats only one repeat.Dirty Hipsters said:The bosses are fun, but they get repeated 3 times each

It really depends on how you approach it, if you blow through the story on normal\easy and call it a day then you'll sit thinking it was a pretty average experience, and have missed 90% of the game. The real fun begins when you start going through the harder difficulties and aiming for SSS rank where you need to start mastering how the character(s) play, and all the intricacies involved, which can easily turn the 8 hour experience into a 50 hour one depending on how far you want to go.Ezekiel said:Mediocre. Stick with action-adventure games. Most action games are shallow. The only thing they do well is the combat, but that gets pretty old pretty fast without anything else.
I would just say this: people hold DMC4 TOURNAMENTS. The things people can do with that fighting engine are insane. The amount of depth and nuance that is shown at high levels is a testament to that. And I would also say if action games were "shallow" then there is no way any fighting game on the planet should be any fun or be capable of holding an audience. And we all know how provably false that is.Blitsie said:It really depends on how you approach it, if you blow through the story on normal\easy and call it a day then you'll sit thinking it was a pretty average experience, and have missed 90% of the game.
