So apparently a massive hole has appeared in the middle of Guatemala city. Now im no expert but im willing to bet the Silver Surfer had something to do with this.

Article:

DOWNPOURS caused by tropical storm Agatha have created a giant sinkhole in Guatemala City, while throughout the country officials have reported 120 people dead and at least 53 missing.

The sinkhole, which formed in the northern part of the capital city, swallowed up a space larger than the area of a street intersection.

Residents said a three-storey building and a house fell into the hole. The residents blamed a poor sewerage system for the sinkhole.

...It looks photoshopped. Where's the debris? How's it completely black at the bottom? Why is it almost a perfect circle?

Mad, isn't it? I just feel sorry for the people who lost their homes and possessions when that thing opened up.

The conversations with insurance people must have been amusing, though.

This is real, it was on the news all evening with video footage. Neat really.

It is also on CNN.com under the world tab right now. Probably on BBC as well.

Newsflash to the Third World: Don't construct buildings heavier than grass huts on top of any surface with the hardness of chalk.

The black at the bottom is water I believe, that's why you can't see the debris

The Hole is very real. Here's another angle of it.

Another thread where people wrongly jump to the conclusion that the photo is shopped (I point people to the thread about the time traveller photo). 5 seconds of research could have proved the validity of the photo. The hole isn't a perfect circle, there is some debris and damage around; plus you can't see much rumble because it fell into the 300+ feet hole. I also read on some other sites that a few more holes have formed.

Off-topic: clearly it's the locust attacking earth
