A Half Life movie would piss most fans off to no end, unless they made him a silent protagonist, in which case the movie would bomb much worse than if it had someone who talked.
Like Blue Shift then?Vincent33 said:It would be cool to make the movie from the perspective of some other random Black Mesa employee with Freeman's only contribution to the movie being a couple of scenes where he runs past the main cast with a blank stare and a crowbar. It wouldn't destroy the character and Valve would be able to tell their story from a fresh perspective.
Surely Morgan Freeman's voice with Hugh Laurie's looks and you have the perfect Gotdon Freeman...Hell, you have the perfect human being!Aby_Z said:No. The only person who can fill Gordon's voice is Morgan Freeman. Screw colour, give him the role if there must be one!
DOn't count the old guy out! There are alot of older action stars. Some of the guys in The Expendables are old enough to be rotting atleast. And also, check this movie out:DarkPanda XIII said:I'd agree, though by the time that they would make the movie, Huge Laurie might be too old for the role, since it seems every time I see Gordon's face, he's roughly in his late 30s early 40s, and Laurie would be in his late fifties by then....I know, make up would work, but still, only so much.
I prefer to call it "naivity"The Amazing Tea Alligator said:I like the optimism and innocence in this thread, gives me a warm feeling.
totally! lollTriggerUnhappy said:Talk about easy cash for the guy, just walk around expressionless throughout the movie. Essentially, he'd be Keanu Reeves.
But yeah, that'd be pretty good casting.
lolll that'd be perfectSFR said:Well, alright, but only if he doesn't talk. If he's gonna talk, he has to be voiced by Ross Scott, maker of Freeman's Mind. Any other voice would sound really weird to me. Besides:

He looks pretty darn close, right?
that's just because they're all named Freeman, right?Xyliss said:Surely Morgan Freeman's voice with Hugh Laurie's looks and you have the perfect Gotdon Freeman...Hell, you have the perfect human being!
I know I already quoted this, but I thought it's something you should see.Souplex said:Due to Valve's hatred of cutscenes, and the lack of reflective surfaces, you never get to see Gordon Freeman's face in the actual games. That, combined with the lack of legs when you look down means that we have no in game evidence that he is anything more than a disembodied pair of hands.
The box art is the only thing that says he looks like that.
Gah! Now I am worried. Freeman is bad enough, but now G-Man?teh_Canape said:
Well if they did it like most CGI films they would still need a good actor for motion capture, and it helps if the person looks like the character.illas said:Valve have said that the "meet the team" videos are experiments regarding making a CGI film, and I would assume that HL would be the chosen franchise... so... sadly no Hugh Laurie needed; even if he does look suspiciously right for the role.
...Stephen Fry as the G-Man would be utterly win, too.
H....holy....oh my god.teh_Canape said:
They said in a recent PCG interview that they'd do it themselves if they did green-light one, and that they're constantly exploring stuff like that (not that it means they'll ever do it).icame said:It could work. But i don't think valve would approve of a Half life movie.
First, for the picture: MY GOD. I'm scared.Soviet Heavy said:Gah! Now I am worried. Freeman is bad enough, but now G-Man?teh_Canape said:
