Humanity does have its flaws, as said by those before me. It does have its assholes, but for every asshole, there are probably 100 or so normal, friendly, good people.

That is why I don't like and watch the news anymore. All news stations seem to do is pick the worst stories they can find, and amplify it by 10. All of the idiots drown out all of the rational people. And there are far more rational people, that is why socioty hasn't destroyed itself.

Humanity is a great thing, we are far more adaptive than anything out there. We don't have gills, yet we go underwater all the time. We've been in space, the most hostile enviornment out there. We protect endangered species as best we can. We try our best to make sure people, both good and bad, get what they deserve. We've been to the freaking moon for god's sake!

That proves with enough persistance, we can do anything.

The problem is that we try to do so much at once, that bad things our bound to happen. The important thing is to learn from them so they aren't repeated. And most people do learn, and that is why we are where we are today.

And sometimes, all it takes is one good person to change the world.

I wouldn't say that I Hate humanity, but I consider myself a cynic of sorts. Most new people I meet I'll find something to hate about them.

I find that a person is a beautiful, complex organism capable of deducing the masteries of the universe. However, people as a whole are reactionary and crude, always rely on outdated instincts and define themselves by their lowest common denominator.

And I'm one of them, sadly.
good answer

my advice? fuck'em if you can't stand the riff raff of this strange complex web of social rules and sheep laws then stick around the folks you can muster. For the love of christ though don't give in or kill yourself/murder suicide, that's just letting them believe they are right

I see your point sir, sometimes you need to find some good people to help you, and if you've stuck around your birth place for to long you might make the mistake of thinking it's the entire world and that people are the same everywhere

never let it be said that i hate all humanity. there are certain people close to me who i like and admire, , and then there are people that i know, and i dont like, and simply being around them revolts me. my reasons are simply because of how blind and stupid almost everyone i encounter seems to be. for example; what did Iraq have to do with 9/11? nothing. well, perhaps not nothing, but surely not enough to justify an invasion, subsequent war and massive national debt. another thing that gets me down is the huge issues of self esteem and the like forced upon the children of western countries. pre-teens wearing makeup. ten yr old girls wearing wonder bras. children who are forced into the mold of their parents dreams before they even know what they want with their lives. stuff like this makes me wonder what the point of working towards a better world is, when everyone else seems to blindly accept this as reality and not bother to change it. what is there to do? what can i do? please, someone tell me im not alone in this?
Such a stereotypical angsty belligerent individual, It's rather hard to take someone serious when they imply wait no you infact stated that climate change is a crime.

Although I am gratifying such idiocy with a response I think it needs to be said that you sir are probably the most hypocritical pseudo-misanthrope I've ever had the displeasure of replying to.

How about you stop "Hating Humanity" and do something worth while other than being a whiny whino.

Yeah, I called you a whiner... wanna fight about it?

Humanity is disgusting. Has always been, will always be. Nothing beautiful about it. Just a random occurence in the story of the universe. Which mitigates the disgusting nature of humanity, since: what does it matter anyway what humanity gets up to in the infinity of space time?
You, ser, are either blind, trying to get a reaction out of people (like me) or just plain depressed. There is so much beauty in the world, to ignore it all is to willingly make yourself hate life. Why do such a thing? It is almost a crime to refuse to accept that our world is beautiful. So what that in the history of space and time you think that we will be nothing. Well, who cares? We could be nothing. We could be intelligent race number 1,091,131,121 for all I care, we are still unique, special. We rose to sentience and now we need to do something with it. We have the entire history of time to draw knowledge from, infinite potential, and what's stopping us from being around until the universe eventually stops expanding and implodes? There are billions and billions of years ahead of us and I genuinely think we will be there for them all.
Oh, about that it always has been and always will be, I take that back. I just think it is now.
I don't hate life, I don't hate humanity as such. I just have a problem with the direction humanity is taking and its unwillingness to change, although I'm sure it will some time. I'm not depressed, just realistic. Some might call it pessimism, but I'm really not pessimistic. I'm not satisfied with people as they are today, but I know this will change, and I'm very happy about it.
I'm sorry if my reply came over as a bit emo, but really, I don't find humanity beautiful. Wondrous and fantastic yes, but aesthetically pleasing, nope.
By the way, thinking humanity will be around forever is deluding yourself. Any idea how long forever is? No single species has been around for longer than a few million years. Quite some hubris to think humanity may be the exception. Remember, we haven't been around very long as it is. And evolving isn't a bad idea either. Some people might say that humanity has stopped evolving after it gained enough intelligence, but I beg to differ. Darwin is still right.

Oh, and I do like to get a reaction out of people, it's the only way to get a good discussion going. I may be wrong and I know it, but I'm just trying to form an opinion. So, thanks for the reply. ^^

The one thing you must understand:

Humans are a bunch of stupid monkeys with hubris enough to think they've outgrown that.

And such is where the disgust for humanity comes from.

WISDOM and RATIONALITY come from the realization:

You are also one of those stupid monkeys with hubris enough to think you've outgrown it.

Once you realize you're not above the stupid masses, but you're actually one of them, means you grow understanding, humility, and respect for your common man. He has ideals and moments of brilliance, just like you, and he makes some real stupid mistakes, just like you.

You are no better nor worse than the common mediocrity, and that's why you need to get off your high horse and start 'slumming it' with the normal people.

To err is human, it is our foible, and it is our birthright. I've met very few people who can rightfully claim to be above all the nonsense that humanity engages in... and that includes myself. I am just as fallible as anyone else.

Take heart in the fact that humanity -is- changing, and life as a human has been on a steady increase since the beginning of history. Our morals improve, our way of life improves, our empathy towards others improves.

But it's a work in progress, a common human error is to look at something that warrants the changes going on and saying 'See! Nothing's happening!' when all rational evidence points otherwise. All you've proven is that change is not yet complete.

I think humanity's kind of cool... We may be screwed up, but we're screwed up by our own standards. We'd be a perfectly normal species if we hadn't gone and given ourselves morals.
