Wow. If there was ever any doubt that the human race is irredeemable, it's gone now. I think hell might be an improvement from here.

Yet by saying that humans are a disgusting breed, you are generalising the whole of humanity under this group which you yourself claim to be a minority. This isn't a flaw with humans as a breed of species, this is a flaw with the morals and values of a selection (or minority) of humans, and those vary from person to person.

EDIT: I would write more on this like I like to do, but my opinions would just be a repeat of others on this thread: Plenty of good, but it just gets ignored by the general media.

Look at this thread. Certainly there are two camps of opinion but not one person has failed to acknowledge that the events in question were horrible. That tells me that obviously "normal caring people" are the vast majority.

I don't understand this logic. When one absolutely horrible thing happens people act like human race is doomed and that we are all barbaric morons. Why? One person's actions should not be a representation of humanity as a whole. If people didn't care when this type of thing happened, then I would agree with this point of view. But people do care.

Anyways, I was obviously feel sorry for the boy. That's such a cruel thing to do to somebody.

We are also not disgusting, because we can look at this type of thing and realize that its wrong.

No, they deserve to be given a choice.
Step 1. Super glue their willies inside a steel pipe.
Step 2. Build a massive slab of concrete around mentioned pipe.
Step 3. Put a rather large explosive beside them and give them a VERY blunt knife (we're talking something that can barely cut warm butter).
Step 4. Tell them the explosive will detonate in 60 seconds and explain that they have the choice to either cut off their willies with the knife, or get evaporated along with it.

Either way, the rest of humanity win.

This is a good post.
People really have to stop labeling humans under good or evil. Humans, by nature, are...well, human. We make mistakes, we get hotheaded, impatient, shit happens in childhood that makes things worse...and sometimes bad things happen. It's just the way things are.

Animals never had a World War, who are the real animals?

Show me another animal with enough intelligence to create a complex social systems that include millions of people with metaphysical ideas such as morals and good and evil. Show me another animal who is able to even understand the concept of war and peace, and then show me an animal that can choose to live their lives non-violently, even if they come under attack.

All of you who are upset because of this are the very reason you should keep your faith in humanity. Some people are messed up, sure, but the vast majority would not tolerate this sort of thing.
If you don't like it, as somebody has already said, do something about it. I, personally, work for a company that publishes reading material for children, and I write things that emphasize believing in themselves and being kind to others.

If you really want us to have more faith in humanity then you should stop judging us based on our judgmental nature towards other people. Or do your beliefs only go one way?

It's just the easy thing to do. I love haering all the kids say how they wish we would all go extinct, but then when you turn the point around on them and why they have continued their own existence, it becomes a different story. It is easier to generalize and stereotype us all into one category, and can usually be summed up in one sentence, which makes it the perfect opinion to have on an internet forum when you want to bump your post count AND look really edgy.

Ok if you can't be bothered or are unable to click this link for whatever reason, allow me to expand.

In short a 15 year old boy appears to have been pushed off a multi storey car park.

However having been told the full story allow me to tell you exactly what happened which the paper hasn't printed.

This young lad goes to the school near me, is a quiet kid, keeps his head, down, like many of us here, just got on with it.

He got bullied, called names like "geek" "nerd" etc etc, but found solace in computers, from building them to coding, he loves them.

He got speaking to someone on the internet who is 20 years old.

This 20 year old man said to this boy that he had a computer part the boy had been searching for, so having agreed to meet this man ( i know it's idiotic to meet someone from the internet having never had any contact with them except online but i don't know what was going through this lad's head therefore i won't pass judgment).

Anyway he gets to the car park to meet this bloke, to which the bloke says that the computer part is in the back of his car , so the young lad walks to the back of the car, to find a couple of this blokes mates (hired goons would probably be an appropriate term here), where upon they beat the living shit out of him and dangled him over the edge by his fingers, and then slowly one by one pulled his fingers off the ledge and watched him fall.

the young lad is now having surgery to repair both his legs and his back, doctors are unsure of whether they can save one of his legs or not.

Opinion time
Now, don't get me wrong i think humans have the potential to be dicks but this absolutely
takes the piss, i mean the lad was 15, a complete sociophobe and they took advantage, if it was just a simple beating ( not that this is acceptable either ) then it may not have turned out so bad, but the fact that having basically beaten him unconscious, then proceeded to drop him over a ledge and slowly made him release his grip on the ledge, makes me realize that my town of Ipswich is absolutely going to hell, but what scares me even more is that stuff like this happens every where, from war veterans getting beaten for the sake of maybe a few quid, or a child getting run over and killed only for the driver to speed off ( if you are interested in these stories links are below).

Please share your thoughts on what i can only describe as humans with cancer of the intellect.

I know that I completely lost my faith in humanity when, after the horrible tragedy of the Boxing Day Tsunami and all the destruction it wrought, the first thought that entered the minds of some utterly disgusting people was that it gave them an opportunity to go to Thailand to kidnap orphaned and displaced children and force them into a life as sex slaves. Even in times of crisis, there are people who capitalise on the terrible things that have happened to others for their personal gain.
