Well he kills Odin and Ragnarok is the actual war and the paradise that follows.
Anyway I'd go with something unique to your own life and maybe the dog itself.

and he's not really the bringer. the giants and the midgard snake are also in the battle.
I vaguely remembered the story from a Norse myth book I read In school. Thank you for correcting me however, still an awesome name in my humble opinion.

You pretty much have to use this. Especially with the breed your dog is, OP.

Also Wasn't Thor killed by a giant snake that I cannot remember right now?

OT: Either Fenrir or Rei. Or a Japanese name, since Akita originate from Japan and O love Japanese names.

Could call him "Mouse" I guess.
Not really the best name for a Husky, need a giant breed for that =p I was planning on getting a Leonberger and calling him Mouse ^^

OT: I agree with Fenrir. So many wolf tie ins, a perfect name for a husky/akita cross.

Sorry, but that is wrong. Fenrir is not the bringer of Ragnarök, and it is Odin he is foretold to kill, not Thor
Wasn't it Midgardsormr that's foretold to kill Thor?

OT: I agree with the first guy. Fenrir is an awesome name.

Yup. Thor and Midgardsormr will have an epic battle like no other, and Thor will win. He will then walk 9 paces before succumbing to Midgardsormr's poison and die

Ah, yeah, that's right. Need to brush up on my Norse mythology...
And no worm shall kill me! The curse of having half your name be Thor...

Husky Akita cross. Oh man I envy you, that's pretty much the dog of my dreams. As for a name, I'd just suggest you give it the name of your favorite charecter (from anything; books, games, movies, whatever.)

Camulus, the Celtic god of war, either that or Sokar, Marduk or Muramasa. Sokar was more or less the ancient Egyptian's equivilent of Satan. Marduk comes from Sumarian mythology, he killed Tiamat and used her body to make the heavens and the earth, he also killed two of the other primordial gods thus winning the war for the elder gods. Muramasa was a ledgendary smith from Japan whose blades were unmatched in sharpness and were invested with bloodthirsty anger.
