I am 90% certain that a Mass Effect MMO is in the works. (Mass Effect 3 ending shows why)

Hey, just completed Mass Effect 3.

I am a little dissapointed, I made like 50 alliances, saved the universe, and chose to blow up the reapers only to have it abruptly end, it wasn't terrible but defnitly feels like we baked a cake only to not be able to eat it. I am glad Garrus and Tali are alive.

The ending leaves the 3 choices we might be familiar with, but the thing is about after, we don't see anything about our resulting choices. The Mass effect relays are destroyed no matter what, the citadel is flattened. The Militarys on all sides are relatively in pieces, and in either way, all endings stop the reapers.

We essentially have a "Post apocalyptic" set up, in the end, it sort of makes sense as to how an MMO can be made into this universe now.

Got to disagree, Bioware/EA won't be putting out a new MMO any time soon and not a scifi mmo not after all they money they have spent for SWTOR. If there is going to be a mass effect mmo you won't hear any sort of talk about it for five years and it won't be out for perhaps almost ten.

When EA commited to the Old Republic around 2006, MMOs seemed like a great way to make a game that was resistant to piracy and could bring in more lifetime revenue than a $60 box purchase.

Here in 2012, the customer acceptance of EA's DLC means that they have a lot less incentive to make a subscription MMO. The current cost to buy all of the Mass Effect 2 DLC is $60, so making trilogies of singleplayer / co-op games with +$100 total revenue per game is a much more profitable business model than maintaining an MMO.

I'm sure if they could go back they would have made 3 koTOR sequels instead of ToR. People are talking about whether ToR will hold enough subscriptions to "break even", but when singleplayer / co-op games are profiting over $200 million each, breaking even is a huge loss of potential profit.

If there was going to be a Mass Effect MMO, it would have to take place before the events of the first game. I don't see how one would work if it were to be set up afterwards.

An MMO would be pretty un-likely simply because no matter what all Mass Relays are destroyed. If there ever is a Mass Effect MMO, it would have to take place prior/during the events of the Mass Effect games, or way after (in the period that the Epilouge takes place).

Personally, If I was more of an MMO person, I would love a Mass Effect MMO, because It would likely give me an opportunity to play as a Turian outside of the ME3 multiplayer, or maybe even a Hanar, and I would be Blasto! the Jellyfish Spectre!

However, MMOs have always seemed like to much of a time sink for me, and I don't have the attention span to play regularly, so monthly subs aren't worth it, and F2P ones just don't seem to hold my attention.

Easy the game is set 1000 years into the future were the races have just re-met each other after building their own Mass relays and there are various schisms going on between the races.
