That last thing you listed is entirely irrelevant in the real world, as mind control does not exist (yet).

Anyways, I thought you should know that the Jedi creed was based largely on Taoism.
Mind control doesn't exist?

I wonder what propaganda is used for then, to look pretty on walls?
They're load bearing propaganda posters, when they say a regime crumbled they mean it literally.

Being 'Jedi' is basically being Buddhist with a lightsaber. Since Buddhism isn't a religion (strictly speaking, it's more of a philosophy. A way of life, if you will), being Jedi isn't a religion either. No wonder it isn't recognized...

Irony's Acolyte: So you're an agnostic? (You don't know for sure whether there is a god or isn't)

well i'm open to the idea of there being a god of sorts, but i'm starting to doubt that it's the Christian god.

edit: damn it, i totally F'd up this quote. now i don't know how to fix it.

Oh Yeah. Let me put it to you a different way. I have a gun to your head. All you need to do to prevent my spackling of the walls with your gray matter is to tell me you agree with me. Just because I can't reach into your head and manipulate your thoughts does not mean I can't change your mind with force.
But that's not changing my mind, that's me telling you a lie. I wouldn't actually believe what I said.
I can still dissuade you from a certain action by threatening you with force. If you honestly can't see where I am going with this you need to leave.
Seems pretty hostile to be a Jedi. I sense much anger in you, young Padawan. Pray that you do not walk down the path of the dark side.

This thread is a prime example of people not reading the OP before they post. Just sayin'.

OT: I found your analysis pretty interesting. I've never seen the Jedi way related to real life.

Mind control doesn't exist?

I think he means the straight-up, "These aren't the droids", kind of mind control.

As for the OP, well...

Respect the elders- You mean the one's who aren't the racist homophobes, right? So the senile ones then? (I kid the old people, but I refuse to give someone my respect solely because they're old.)

Be willing to evolve- Evolve? I believe you mean adapt. (I think...)

Might is not right- Really? 'Cause it really seems to be working IRL... (I'm just sayin'.)

Rage and anger...- Rage and anger only last in the short term. Nobody is angry forever, only as long as they need to be.

Mind control = morally wrong...- You know what? I completely agree. Unfortunately, mind control doesn't actually exist.
