I am a harsher critic for games that I like than the ones that I do not.

I do this too, when I'm invested in somethign I poke far more holes in it. People hate it. I guess some people just don't want to think critically, never quite understood why. You don't get the most out of anything unless you can appreciate it warts and all, rather than simply ignoring the warts.

Most people aren't mature enough to admit their favorite game's shortcomings, and that's when you get the "Drones." It would be self-serving to say I was otherwise, but I do like to think of myself as above the common gamer drivel. Sorry if that came out elitist...

It depends on the game. There are games that I like that I can complain about and their are games I don't like I can complain about. However when it comes to games I don't like I usually just leave it at that and say I didn't like the game. I haven't played it enough to give valid criticism so I don't.

With games I like I play it and flaws come to me while I enjoy it. Small flaws are easily noticed in a game you love because when something you don't like it makes a glaring contrast to the rest of it.

I can also rip into my other favourite games quite deeply as well. But I still love them. I love them so much that I play them and play them, overanalyzing and reflecting every detail and I have fun doing it. I love Jak 2 to bits, but dare me and I can write a 3 page Word essay on it's flaws, shortcomings, and wasted potential. The overall experience is what sold me though. I could harp on minor things that were done wrong and what could have been, but did it stop me from liking it? Nope!
