There are actually quite a few people that believe in something similar to that. The whole idea is that since God creates things, and every living being also creates things, that we must all be God (or at least part of God). It does make a certain amount of sense. I think it does, anyway.

... no, we are not universes. Or gods. Or creators of the world around us. You have jumped far too many points in between your arguments to go from "we are part of the universe" to "we are our own universes".

I'm really not sure what you're saying here. You seem to take "I think therefore I am" and then add "a god" on the end.

I've always had the amusing argumentative point that I am God and the same reasons you can't disprove God's existence mean you can't disprove my identity as God.

Well, about that... what I've come to figure out in my life is that "impossible" means "we haven't figured out how yet". The "laws" of nature and all that stuff are man made, based on their understandings of everything at the time, so nothing says they can't change.

At the same time, though, if nothing can be created or destroyed, just transferred, where did everything come from?

Well, in this matter it all depends on your perspective. It is true that everything is essentially at it's core matter(and energy? I don't really know how to correctly refer to it, but from how I understand it matter and energy can't be destroyed, or we haven't figured out how to destroy it yet, it can only be changed, so) only in different forms and it all gets recycled eventually into something new one way or another.

So if we're going to, on a philosophical level, assume the "I think, therefor I am" position and accept that everything around us can simply be real in our own heads, which makes it an illusion and, well, our creation in a way.
Does this make us gods? Well, if you want to see it that way, then sure, we're "gods".

I personally don't really think about stuff like this at all, I just end up confusing myself and just go play pokémon or something.

I have felt over the last couple of years that we do not know even understand are self-vs. how often does the general human take a very deep look of honesty inside them self to under stand them self-vs completely.

so after 22 years of life, here is what i can come up with so far.

It is impossible to create something out of nothing, right? so everything that is in this planet, you, me, every partical of existance had to have allready existed in space before the forming of planet earth.

so everything that is inside you is also inside the universe. in a way you are a universe, you are THE universe.

we are the creaters of all this right here.

if life is truly random and chaotic than the only thing that one can be sure of is themselves. it is the only thing that you have control over and can positively without a doubt KNOW.

I am god, you are god. We are god.

Sorry if this is incomprehensible blabber, its late and i'm tired. i think i will watch some ghost in the shell and go to sleep.

I don't understand! How did you come to the logical conclusion that just because we share commonalities with the raw materials of the universe (which we do) we somehow created the universe?

That's sort of like how whenever I take a shower in my dorm, the steam condenses on the ceiling and drips back down as a slow, cold drip on my head every few seconds. Thus making me feel both uncomfortable and unclean by the time I'm done. Gotta love the stages of matter.

I swear, the rampant atheism on this site sickens me, sometimes. Heavy doses of atheism and liberalism pepper these boards. I can only hope some of you come to your senses one day. Go ahead and flame away at me for saying as such.

Nothing like philosophical debate about the nature of existence to get the creative juices running.
My personal take on the whole 'What's our place in the universe?' thing, is that the universe is a maze and every life form, self aware or not, is trying to find the exit. No one being can see more than there own section of the maze so collaboration and communication is essential to solving the puzzle. Eventually, when every being in the universe is working in tandem, they will find God (which I believe to be more of a cosmic blueprint than a omniscient father/mother entity) and the puzzle is solved. Cue next 'Big Bang'.
Possibly not the most original idea (Marvel did something similar in Galactus's origin) but I prefer the idea of universal peace and cooperation, to the idea of galactic annihilation due to egotistically prejudiced beliefs.

PS - Just to clarify for anyone reading this as Star Trek meets Babylon 5, I don't necessarily see human beings reaching the end; evolution is as much about discarding dead weight as it is about improving.
