I spent over 2000 hours playing Oblivion trying to build the strongest most kick-ass character I could muster. The highest I got was a level 52 High Elf that owned the battlefield.

Skyrim is going to ruin my marriage if i'm not careful (she will just have to grit her teeth initially)
On the plus side I hope the Dark Brotherhood make a come-back. They were the sickest faction to play. I would also like to see some Vampire only quests (seeking a cure was rather dull) I much preferred Morrowind from this perspective because you could join Vampire Clans.

The other thing I digged about Morrowind was how customizable the spell/enchantments were. Oblivion really cut it down. If I want to make a pair of gloves that summon a scamp when I put them on then let me do it!!

Also the ability to make customizable armour and weapons would be cool. If you could choose from materials and mix&match designs (so you could collect pauldron designs or stick spikes and stuff on your helmet). I'm a big fan of Saints Row for its character customization.

I suppose I'm asking too much but you never know this stuff might actually already be in the game!!!

I am also excited for Skyrim. I never played and past Elder Scroll games, but I do hear great things about them and I did love Fallout 3/NV.

After playing the Duke Nukem Forever demo, I find myself more psyched about Skyrim than DNF.

I just hope they made more voices for the game.

The Dark Brotherhood was cool, but I preferred the Morag-Tong. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure they were only around in Morrowind.

I can't wait for Skyrim either, honestly the change I'm looking forward to most is the levelling system. I thought that the worst thing about the earlier games was the utterly broken levelling system, so leaving it behind will hopefully improve the game a lot.

Actually it all depends on the base values for your major skills. The absolute maximum level is 53, if all of your major skills have a base stat of 25.

You can level up endlessly in Oblivion as far as I'm aware.

OT: SAME!!!!111!!!111!

I'm just glad its not coming out the same time as Human Revolution, or else I'd be fucked.

Nope, you can get far beyond.
Simply go to jail to lower your levels and then get the levels back and presto.
level up!

OT: I hope Skyrim will hold my interest as long as Oblivion still does.
It'll have dragons, it'll look better, it'll have dragons, it'll let you double-weild, IT'LL HAVE DRAGONS!

I'm probably just being a negative Nancy, but does anyone know is it will be more stable and less buggy than Oblivion and Fallout 3?

After they constantly tried to kill me while I was adventuring in Morrowind I hated them, murder every single one I found when I finally got to oblivion, teach them to try and kill me

OT: I want everything you said and more in this game

I didn't.

Well, fine. I'm leaving out some details. Yes, I did like the brotherhood . . . in fact, I liked all the members. Or so that was the case until Lucien ordered me to kill basically all the friends I made in Cheydinhal. Perhaps you could call me incompetent, negligent, or even a traitor, but instead of completing the mission I went up to Lucien's secret hiding place and beat the crap out of him . . .

. . . and he went unconscious. It was around then that I lost faith in the nine and discovered that I existed in a seemingly infinite paradox. I was unwilling to complete the task and Lucien was unwilling to die. There was no future to be had there so on that day I left the dark brotherhood behind, hopeful for a brighter future. With great expectations I had considered going to Leyawiin, a beautiful town/city where my kind resided, but it just wasn't meant to be. For a horrible wretched monster in the guise of a lady controlled Leyawiin.

Unfortunately for me I was in Bravil by the time I decided that Leyawiin wasn't an ideal choice and I fell into a great deal of bad habits. I began to drink heavily and I was addicted to skooma. Eventually this addiction took it's toll on me and I was driven to insanity - I attacked a guard and without even much of a fight he arrested me. It was in prison that I contemplated my actions, was this really the life I was going to live?

Yes, it was. And no matter how much I tried to see the error of my ways I felt only the thirst for retribution. On Lucien, the guards, and everyone I had ever met. After a very long time (I lost count of the days) I was released back into the world and I was approached by a messenger and soon I would become a petty thief.

And actually, that's what I've been doing lately. I'm constantly kicked out of the clan for murdering others so I suppose it's not just a Thief that I've been reduced to, it's a murdering petty thief. So while you're hoping that you find the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim just remember of my tale and be cautious, for this fate may happen to you as well.

Good fucking god, I put too much effort into that post didn't I?
