Does anyone have any suggestions for how to remove it? Near on every other link I click on redirects to a spammy advert and it's really start to grate my cheese.

If clicking links is redirecting you to advertisements, then your system may be too compromised to save without a lot of expert intervention, and a reformat might be in order.

That said, Malwarebytes is the first tool you should try: https://www.malwarebytes.org/ (this is a valid link, so if it takes you anywhere besides the Malwarebytes site, then the issue is with your computer). Once you've ensured that there's no malware on your system, try CCleaner to clean out the leftovers: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

No, don't reformat. That's extreme to say the least.

Is the problem with every single browser you have? Or is the problem limited to just one, like Chrome or IE? It's probably just an add-on or shitty extension [https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/187443?hl=en].

The Rogue Wolf (or as I like to sometimes mistakenly say, 'rouge') is correct. Just run Malwarebytes and follow the prompts. It's more than likely something specific to the one browser you use the most, but unfortunately it may not be a quick solution. Chances are you'll be able to identify which bit of malware you're afflicted with by Googling the symptoms, but be warned, any solution you find that claims you can fix it by downloading something else--other than something trusted like Malwarebytes--is probably just another trap.

If you haven't fixed it already then I would suggest getting something like Malwarebytes or spybot and CCleaner then uninstall all browsers that you have on your PC. IE can be deleted through Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features>"view installed updates". It will automatically update by windows update afterwards so don't worry about having no browsers whatsoever.

Just make sure that you have all your saved passwords backed-up and any favourites you don't want to lose.

once you've uninstalled it all, just run Malwarebytes/spybot to scan all your users and run CCleaner to remove any registries that's just clogging-up the system.

I would also recommend using Spybot Search & Destroy. Malwarebytes is great for serious threats but adware is more Spybot's specialty. It also has passive immunization.
