Well, you could just go around blaming everyone for being these bad extremist people you claim we all are...or you could do something about it...like being proud to be a gamer who isn't a sexist, racist, homophobic, genderist prick. Be a voice of reason instead of sitting silently and doing nothing. The more reasonable people there are out there that identify themselves as gamers the louder we become.

Now this obviously wouldn?t be an ideal situation as running away from a problem rarely fixes it (and if you want an example of how this can go horribly wrong just look at 4chan) . But I do think that removing identifying information off accounts would lead to a more content focused Internet rather then the drama that we have today.

So your problem isn't that we are racist and sexist (because we are), but that we're not nice to each other. And your solution is to hide anything that can allow us to be racist and sexist. Remove all the cannon fodder so to speak.

Don't you want to be a little more ambitious? Once we get used to living with other kinds of people - and living beside them instead of above or below them - the bigotry will go. That would mean going in the opposite direction - not hiding information but shoving it in other people's faces so we can't hide from it. I don't advocate that but it will come naturally. But then, I don't think racism and sexism are the only -isms out there, and we're by no means ready to confront all of them.

I've been thinking , for years i've refused to identify myself as a gamer . Not just because I think ?gamer? is an empty moniker but because I never liked gamers as a community . As individuals you are very lovely people but as a group you are often racist , sexist extremists who who stand against everything I like about the Internet.

Did you really just post a paragraph, not only insulting us as individuals but as a group and then go on to say "you are often racist , sexist extremists"? Lets change "gamer" to I don't know .... "black people", here we go!
