I predicted everyone would get pissy about version 4.0, damn its fun being right

Ok, all of these are 100% canon and will happen
MK Vs DC will be a well thought out but hidiously undersold game

Duke Nukem Forever demos will be packaged with Chinese Democracy

Shooters will start having voice recognition software built in, enabiling you to interact with NPCs with your voice, possibly even to solve puzzles

They will remake the following massively successful games and take away all their wacky charm:
Monkey Island
Earthworm Jim
Ristar

I call that even the fourth version of the IPhone won't resolve all the issues with the current models

I call that Microsoft will eventually allow third party companies make hardware for the XBox 360 (like a Blu-Ray player, etc.) but that it WON'T be any time soon, or announced at E3, or perhaps not even until the next console generation.

I call that eventually basic internet will be just as free as normal radio.

I call that within this millennium, we will either find signs of life out in space, or even make contact with said life, and knowing how terribly arrogant we can be, I'm pretty sure we're gonna fuck that one up as well.

Seeing as we're getting much more general:

I call that the human population will eventually stabilize around 3 billion.
I call that water shortages will end up being more dire than oil shortages.
I call that no humans will live on earth after 2300. (See if I'm right on that one!)
I call that radio will become obsolete by 2050.

I call that we'll run out of oil and gas sooner than we think.

I call that McCain will win the election not because of his ideology or whatever, but because Obama is pretty much screwed since the democrats have been fighting amongst themselves for so long - giving the majority to McCain pretty much, since those who wanted Hillary are either not going to vote, or will vote for Obama (if they aren't worried about "being a traitor") - or just vote for McCain since they don't like Obama.

I call that when we are in a gas and or oil crisis, people will still ***** and moan and protest, hoping things will change overnight, instead of trying to adapt by getting a hybrid or putting some effort into converting to biodiesel or Natural Gas (which is free since it's in your house) - or simply trying to drive less.

I call that Nostradamus will be right, and that the Iraq war will last 20 more years (this includes if we go into Iran).

I call that Fable Two will not be as good as promised. And then they will give the design over to Richard Garriot
Ah, well since we're all talking about games I'll post a few.

I call the middle ground to the statement I quoted - Fable 2 won't live up to promises very much, but, it won't suck as much as we all thought it would.

I Call that Call of Duty 5 will not suck - it won't sell well because people are just that way and judge "books" by covers and assume it will suck - but it won't.

I call that Bethesda will fuck up Fallout 3, but it will get equal amounts of praise and hatred. Hatred from those who love fallout, hatred from those who hated Oblivion, and lots of praise from those who absolutely loved Oblivion and haven't played the previous TES games, or a previous Fallout game.

I call that Halo 4 will be Episodic and won't focus on the chief - and with each episode expands to current Halo 3 multiplayer.

I call that Crytek won't pull it's head out of their ass. Ever. Crysis warhead may do better than Crysis did, but it still won't meet Cryteks commercial expectations because people will still hate the game for the wrong reasons, and those who own good computers but know jack shit about computers, won't get it and say their PC can't run it, just because by looking at the box they will assume it can't run it - even though People have tweaked Crysis enough to get it running on the nVidia 6 series cards.

I call that Piracy will continue getting blown out of proportion, but only on games, and that the industry will eventually make PC gaming so annoying and tedious that the copy protection will hurt the industry more than it tried to help it. I hope to God this doesn't happen but from recent headlines in the past few weeks it certainly looks that way, especially with the False Prophet Crytek.

i call that Bioware will make KOTOR 3 and it will redefine rpg on the console...(we will most likely have died by then, and the human race will have regressed in intelligence, so it wont matter)

i call that Yahtzee will crucify (insert game here) this week and the audience will clamor for more blood, unless he gets an update on Portal 2.

Richard Garriot and Peter Molinoux will be locked in a death cage together and promise the world to the audience. whoever delivers on what they say, walks away. bets will be split 50/50

And the king shall return to his glorious throne, flanked by his two hands:
one will push him onwards to the gilded tower;
the other shall bid him return to his twigged cottage and,
with false promises in his ears,
the king shall sing the song of ten by ten thousands' doom.
The sun will wane as to the moon,
and the moon shall wax into the fullness of the sun's rays,
shining a cold light.
The demon's hordes will come to the land of four hundred furlongs;
the king will welcome him.
The demon will accept,
with Jove's duplicity.

I'm just saying, I called it.

I call that all of the accountants of the wealthy but stupid (e.g. Paris Hilton, etc.) will syphon off millions of dollars of their money, but never tell them.

I call that advertising agencies will develop an ad so irritating that someone will hunt down and punch the ad developers.

I call that by 2065 there will be a way to automatically block ex-Xbox 360 Players (only the idiots, not all players) and all prepubescent gamers.

I call that when someone makes a game better than portal, they will either be hailed as a deity or killed by fanboys of any console that it does not get released on.

I'm making the call right now.

In five years, water will be more expensive than oil.

Here's another call right now.

Amy Winehouse will find God and stay clean.

God, where to start here?

Okay, first up a reply: Defcon, Project Origin isn't a FEAR expansion, it's Monolith's next game (they just aren't allowed to call it FEAR, but they're completely ignoring the expansions anyway).

Now, onto the calls:

Bungie will not bother making a fourth game in the series, Halo or otherwise. They'll eventually make another FPS in the same vein, with tie-ins and winks to their previous works, but will continue to claim it's a "seperate universe, just similar". This is what they've always done, since Pathways into Darkness and even Minotaur (Marathon 2 had a Halo ring in it; Marathon Infinity had the race of Cthulu-esque gods to which Pathways' boss belonged - who destroyed the universe in the secret ending; the Marathon guy was Mjolnir-class, while the Mjolnir hammer itself showed up in Minotaur; Oni featured references to Cortana and Blam!, Halo's developement codename).

As a side-note, Master Chief can't be the Marathon guy, because he's a Mk5/Mk6 and the Marathon guy is a Mk4, who left the solar system with the launch of the Marathon about 50 years prior to the events in Halo, and that's assuming that it's the same universe (does anyone know if Mars still has both its moons in the Halo series? If not, one of them is now the Marathon).
Also, I admit to missing a few facts - I haven't played Halo 3, so if something in that proves me wrong, please don't spoil it for me.

Some shorter calls:

- WoW will never be 'toppled', despite better games coming out at an increasing rate. With time it'll just slowly peter out, like Evercrack did.

- We'll run out of uranium by 2030, tops, not 2050.

- Much of that will be because it was converted into weapons-grade uranium instead of electricity (these are inversely proportional in any nuclear power plant).

- Independant games will take a decent marketshare off the big boys, because they don't cost an arm and a leg, they don't have shite copy protection (Bioshock sits patiently in my closet awaiting my purchase of a new machine) and gameplay-wise are just as good as major releases.

- The length of my article hitting critical mass, I will implode and finally shu-
