I dropped my PSP and the battery came out while I was playing Dissidia. I've been too scared to check if my quicksave from halfway through Inward Chaos is intact.

I remember my old mobile, this ugly orange thing with dark screen and a orange and dark blue colour scheme, as if someone thought that was a good idea. But I tell ya, nothing tells me things where built to last back then than that phone did.

I left in my back pocket and it got put though the washing machine. Still worked.

I did it again. Still worked.

I left it on top of my dads car when he drove off. It flew off and smashed on the ground. Only the back had fallen off. [b/]AND[/b] it still worked!

Now take my new phone. Brought it, slid into my pocket, too it out when I got home, there was a stratch across the full length of my screen. Left my keys in the same pocket.

They don't make them like they used to.

The first day i got my xbox 360, i took it home and hooked up up eagerly.

As soon as i turned it on it startled my cat, who promptly jumped on it and sent it smashing from th cabinet to the floor and i wne t a mixture of pale and bezerk.

Luckily it was fine, ive never been so relived.

I repeat occurence happened whe me and some friends did a system link for eft 4 dead once, the cat jumped and knocked one over and the ink uplled the other one with it, both 360s lived but my friends lef 4 dead disk got lasered. i apologised with the speed and responsiveness of the BBC.

Smashed my alarm clock into a wall a few times when i was half-asleep. Went to bed with a alarm clock in pieces. Woke up in horror when it started making that cursed noise then screamed "HOW IS IT STILL WORKING!". Now whenever i hit the snooze button it screams louder, seriously it does.

Well, when I think about it, it's just amazing that my HD contents managed to remain intact through all the viruses, reinstalls and upgrades on my PC throughout the years. Some of those files go way back to 1993, when I bought my first PC. In fact, every story and article I've ever written is in here, and only recently did I start backing it all up in pen drives.

My mug fell off the bench last night but managed to survive entirely unscathed... does that count?

Fun fact though, non-touchscreen iPods are generally fine after you wash them once they've dried out. If you do spill/immerse them in water turn them off immediately to stop short circuits and let them dry out for a few days.

I was playing a fighting game with my friend and I was trouncing him. He got so pissed off he hurled my controller across the room and left a hole in the wall. Controller still worked after that amazingly enough.

My original Xbox has a screwy disc drive, only opens after a nice bang or two. But, yeah, still works.

My Sega megadrive is covered in specks of white paint from when our living room was redecorated 15 years ago. Works like a charm.

I've got a PS1 that's in much worse shape though; no visible damage but it will only work if I tilt it forwards at roughly 45 degrees.

I've droped my discman in a bowl of watter once. The bowl survived... I mean.. After waiting a day to dry, my discman still worked!
Nice. If it happens a gain, or you drop your phone in water or a pool or something, take the phone apart and put it in some mentholated spirits. You may need to get a new screen for your phone though because mine tends to fog up when that happens.

I almost wrecked my PSP-1000 (the black fat one) when my earbuds got caught on the the car door as I closed it and threw the PSP a good 6 feet or so. The disk drive flipped open and the UMD inside was broken. But the PSP still works fine.

Also dropped my PS3 so hard that a chunk of the plastic under the power button broke apart. Still works fine. Also have a really old laptop (like, 20 years old) that still works. Here are the awesome specs on that laptop (which, btw, has a 12 inch or so screen and weighs more than the huge 17 inch gaming laptops): 16 MB internal HD, floppy disk drive, 133 MHz CPU, and a solid 64 kb RAM.

I WAS TERRIFIED.

Yet, the keys still worked perfectly (albeit they were a bit sticky...).

I've dropped my PSP-3000 many a time, and it still works fine, thought the screen is pretty scratched up. If anyone has any clue if I can get it repaired, please tell me.

My old phone managed to survive being dropped in a toilet. I was pretty relieved - but that let be a lesson to everybody to never text and pee at the same time while drunk! Or ever!

I left my PSP's memory stick in my pocket and threw it into the washing machine.

It's as if it never happened.
