I think you've misunderstood. The racism comes into play when the poster mentions not wanting to play as a "ni**er". That's something entirely different from simply preferring to play as a character who more closely resembles you.

There are people who think like that, but the vast, vast majority have learned to keep that out of the public eye. Most racists at least pretend like they arn't. Odds are very, very good that this was simple trolling. Or possibly, it was said by a racist who lied to himself, telling himself that he is only trolling.

I was shocked and out of words, i just could not believe that there are people who hold such opinions, heck i didn't even think stuff like that was an issue at all. He's making a big deal just cause the main character is not white? Pls i'm not trying to start a race war but i just wanted to know what you guys think

Gametrailers forum community scares me, I have absolutely no interest in it. I imagine it being completely filled with 12-16 year olds with no maturity or social filter.

I basically feel old when reading their forums.

I just think its funny that people have this notion that they can say something and that makes it true. I use racial slurs, and exercise overt racial prejudice, but Im not a racist because I say so. People do this all the time.

I know some people who claim to be responsible people, but blame everything that goes wrong on someone else. I know people who cant take the slightest amount of criticism, but deny that they are sensitive.

The exception, for me, is when I say "with all due respect." Whenever I say that to someone, what I mean is that my following statement is going to reflect how much respect you deserve, which is probably not much.

wanna know whats worse? a racist black person. they can and will throw the race card around acting like its a get out of jail free card. you know one day its gonna get to the point where some black guys gonna start a killing spree, get arrested, play the race card, get free and a huge riot will start, then a law will be passed saying blacks cant use the race card unless theres definitive proof that justifies playing the race card(ie, getting beaten by 6 cops over a busted taillight, having the n word screamed at you by the waiter at a restraunt)

I thing that gets me is he specifically says "im not a racist". Someone said something similar to me the other day, he said "I'm not homophobic, I just don't like gay people." This strange kinda, I'm one of them, it's just totally agree with them is bizarre.
