Well, I was having trouble when I was using early magic and just wandering, but when I started to fuck shit up with higher level destruction and started using one handed weapons, I suddenly loved that game forever.
I can't enjoy Skryim. Call Scotland Yard.

Sounds like you just aren't cut out for this type of game.
As others said, join something. The Civil War is fun, the Dark Brotherhood has an entertaining storyline and the Daedra quests are cool.
And if all else fails, Roleplay! Give your character a back-story and motivation Do some inner monologue. This has given me joy many, many times.

The CO19s will be round shortly, it doesn't really matter if you struggle or not.
Don't worry about it, you're not the only one who struggles to get into these sorts of games. Dragon Age and Oblivion took me months, and I never finished Fallout New Vegas. Just let your own will come to it without the unrealistic expectations of the internet, you'll know when you've settled into your groove the moment you realise you've been playing for ten hours straight, and still decide you want to finish your quest. There's no point in forcing yourself into a game, otherwise you just won't appreciate it all that it's due.
