I'd suggest you just talk to your parents, if they really just want to block your email and facebook, I'm sure they can do that without blocking everything, if they're in IT.

I'm not going to ask what you did, but at the least, hopefully they can let you on once, supervised, so you can go on, update Steam and the games and set it to offline mode. Depends if they're wanting your communication blocked online, or all access to the internet.

What I'd suggest as a compromise, is something suggested to many parents, have the PC moved into a communal room, so while they're not staring at your screen all the time, they can monitor your use, but you can have your access back.

I'd also say, if you're looking to get around it, and they're in IT, they'll find out, and probably just remove your PC completely.

I'd really recommend trying to sit down and discuss the problem and ask them to find some middle ground, instead.

If it's a recent thing, maybe give it a while before you try.

Nope, that wouldn't be very lawful of me.

You're going to have to explain this to your parents. Why'd they block you from every website? Overuse? In that case, take the hint and stop using the computer for a while. Punishment? Wait it out, like you're supposed to. They wouldn't do this for no real reason...

I think your parents need to lay off some steam. I would suggest telling your parents to stop being Communist Dictators or steal the neighbor's internet connection. But seriously I can't think of any more puns without resorting to "need to release some valves."

No, that would be against some laws.

Talk to your parents about it. If there's unusable products involved, then they should be reasonable.

If they put the block there, ask them to change it to unblock Steam.

And if they refuse, having blocked Steam deliberately, why would we undermine their authority? They probably have a good reason for doing what they're doing, and if they don't, that's something you should take up with them, not go behind their backs and ask the internet for advice on how to undermine them.

get a mobile internet dongle, some decent deals out there and I guess steam doesn't use too much data with the DRM. Or alternatively hook your pc up to your mobile and use that as a modem, will cost thought. I'm not familiar with steam so can't come up with any better suggestions.

EDIT: or alternatively this [http://prettypinkninja.wordpress.com/2009/02/07/opening-blocked-ports-to-play-steam-games-using-a-vpn/] but this still costs money for a decent speed, there are a few free ones but you'll never be able to download things with the speed and download caps they use.
