Well this game I believe is for the PS1. I remember there is a town and a "tree". I can remember this tree because it was the best part of the game. In this "tree" you fought monsters and picked up items and the point I think was to progress into higher levels of this "tree". Sorry for the vague details but hopefully it's enough to get the name of the game. Thank you.

Your description made me think of Legend of Mana, but that really can't be it. Unless you're a bit confused, that is.

Uh, what about Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain? That's all I can think of anyway.
Certainly not - there wasn't a tree with progressive levels or anything remotely like that there. Even if there was a tower-like thing, it certainly wasn't central.

Wow that's a tad vague, can't you give us anymore info than that? Like the genre, 2D or 3D?

I don't know, but the description has given me a fantastic little nugget of inspiration.

You're sure it was PS1? It could just be the early part of Ocarina of Time :p

For some reason I thought Dark Cloud 1, where you rebuild a town and hunt in a tree for the first level. That's PS2, and I might not even be remebering it right. Been a long time since I played it.

Help! It was a computer game where you moved a platform at the bottom to hit the ball to take out blocks on a coral reef or underwater temple. Fish would swim by and there were bonuses. You had to clear all the blocks to advAnce to the next level.

This just sounds like some Breakout clone. There's an untold quantity of those.

Ditto that, OoT was the first thing that came to mind.

Also, can we please keep these things to the 'Games you can't remember the name of' thread? If everyone looking for an old game with a vague description creates a topic, that's all there'd be for the first 8 pages =)
