Fellow Escapists, are there any bands you could listen to for very long periods of time? I know I have one.

Well...I listened to solely Nightwish for a straight year.

I've gone through periods of only listening to Lights and Tarot before.

I'm currently only listening to Alyson Avenue.

I've still yet to get tired of any of these bands.

Hmm... I suppose The Pixies, Weezer, and Radiohead would be my choices. I love some bands like Streetlight Manifesto and Queens of the Stone Age, but I just couldn't listen to them constantly like I could those three.

I like the way the singer seems to weave stories into his lyrics.

Yeah, I've recently become obsessed with collecting the comics he's making. Also, I'd kill for his voice.

No matter how much I love a particular band I will always grow bored of them. I was a massive Rob Zombie fan as a kid and now I rarely finish listening to a song by him. I was huge into Disturbed in my high school years and even as recent as a year ago but now I only like a few of their songs anymore. Both of my recent favourite bands are fading fast: Children of Bodom and Nightwish.

So I will never say something like "I could listen to these guys forever!" because I know that my tastes change.

Right now I am listening to Primal Fear and have been doing so solidly for the last two months or so. I love the way the guy sings.

I agree with AvsJoe, my tastes change over time, so I am sure that I will grow tired of Primal Fear eventually.
