Good news! I escaped!

I thought the Minions were a cute sideshow in the first movie but I have only seen the first movie (I do have the second one here on Bluray, I just haven't watched it yet). Much like most side characters ever, I imagine that when they are made to be anything more then a side character, they would become really freaking annoying.

I don't mind them but it can get a bit much, when I was on holiday in Spain a TV channel advertisement break had no less than three adverts containing minions in one break alone. Waffles with minions, sauce with minions, deathsticks with minions, you get the idea.

I hate minions. For some reason my cousins like them, as do my parents. They're just so annoying an unavoidable, and they have no value outside of a monetary one for the companies who make things with them. I'd purge them if I knew how. Also, as a Montrealer, I apologise for them being unleashed on the world, since those whose minds spawned them came from here.

I can't say I really hate Minions, mainly since I have had very little exposure to them to begin with. However, I don't find them cute, and since I have an intense love of all things cute, I hate that something so un-adorbs can be so popular.

They're fine in, like, one scene of a movie, as a throwaway side character. But I guess people cried for more, and nobody had the guts to say no, like when a child begs for more candy.
It's the classic tale of people getting what they think they want, not what they actually want.

I sadly can not jump onto the hatewagon, since the only times i come in contact with the minions ia by watchin' the movie they're in or the occasional McDonalds ad. And since they were kinda funny in the movie, i kinda like them.

It's bad enough these sometimes nice but mostly saccharine messages are being put on to websites, but Minions. Don't. Talk. They haven't said a sentence longer than two words in clear English as far as I'm aware.
