Well during one of my sporadic pit stops to this site, I usually tend to ignore the ad's at the end of videos, but one in particular managed to catch my undivided attention.

At first I started watching Yahtzee's videos after a friend introduced me to them nearly two years ago. For the longest time, I just popped around for his videos and nothing more. About a year ago, I actually decided to make an account and explore the local and have discovered some interesting content to relax and watch/read on my very rare down time. However, while browsing some videos, one flashed across for GameDamage, presented as a "talk show" style short, staring three - Matt, Yug and Ben (Yahtzee). While I watched the ad, I was a bit apprehensive, and thought I'd actually follow the link provided and after watching the promotional video, I think I might be interested. I guess what I am getting at is what do you all think? Is it some sort of tactic to help bring back some interest to some old faces? Something to be excited about? Or should it be given a resounding "eugh" and be glazed over?

Personally, I'm on the fence about it. It looks rather interesting with the way it was presented, but that is the idea right? The promotional video presents what looks like some interesting content for all level of Gamers and the community in general. (Myself falling into the "Less than casual gamer" category).

**For those who have not seen it, GameDamage.net has the promo video on it's main page.

I think Yahtzee himself said that whole thing was cancelled, quite sad really, the show looked very promising.

Game Damage is pretty old at this point. No one would buy the pilot, and from what I've heard of the project was given up on completely.

The title is just some wordplay based on the fact that at the end of nearly every video, it's just an ad for the Publisher's Club (for which I must say, I am not interested) and was surprised to see something different.

As for being cancelled, seems a bit of a shame really. If that is the case, why are they still promoting it? I understand there might be some backlog, but if anyone can point me to the right area where it was announced as "Sorry folks" I'd like to see it.

People do have a habit of forgetting just how much work it is to produce weekly content, especially around here.

How many shows has The Escapist debuted only to have it fold after one or two episodes? My guess is that the creators are never consciously prepared for the amount of life-consuming work it is to meet the deadlines of a weekly episodic program.

This is why TV shows have multiple crews working at the same time and make all their episodes in the summer.

EDIT: Also, they did seem to have trouble getting picked up by broadcasters. That might have something to do with it, too.

Unfortunately Yahtzee confirmed that the Game Damage project has been abandoned.

Edit: See here - http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/glt5k/iam_yahtzee_croshaw_off_of_the_escapists_zero/

Just CTRL + F "Game Damage".

Oh, I can imagine producing weekly content is a tedious task, seeing as how some content is quite complex, while some of it is quite mindless.

it's quite natural to see some bright sparks succeed from the mass of soil that is everything else. But if this has been a concept for a while, axed and they're still pushing promo ads? Perhaps they are thinking of trying to make a comeback?
